HOLLEY – Donald Blosenhauer, age 69, passed away June 25th, 2024. He was born May 29th, 1955 in Albion to the late Joseph and Leona (Salisbury) Blosenhauer.

Donald enjoyed camping with his wife, spending time with family and friends, and working with his hands — fixing, creating, building, and welding. He volunteered with the FHM Fire Company and was recently recognized for serving 50 years as of 2023.

Don was a long-standing member of the Sons of the American Legion. He had the gift of gab, especially at parties, and was good at playing euchre. Don was a fan of motorcycles, the Buffalo Bills, and a good DIY project. He was also a big fan of his wife through all the ups and downs of marriage. He was kind, giving, and often the peacekeeper for the family. Don showed up to sports games and dance recitals alike and always said yes to spoiling his grandchildren with his attention, love, and an abundance of ice cream. Much of his practical knowledge, fix-it-yourself attitude, and tinkering spirit will live on in his sons. He will be missed not because he was perfect, but because he was a good man.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David.

Donald is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary; children D.J. (Chrissy), Adam, Michael (Amy) and Penny (Gabby); siblings, John (Jeannine), Gary (Sandy), Joseph (Barbara) and Butch (Chris); grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, John, Amaya, Kairi, Jasmine, Autumn and Rayne.

Donald’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. where a Fireman’s Prayer Service will follow at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to the Fancher Hulberton Murray Fire Co., should be 3353 Hulberton Rd. Holley NY 14470.
