Diana Lyn (Ergott) Jeffords, 71, passed away peacefully on the morning of Dec. 8, 2019 at her home in The Villages, Fla., surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Diana was born on Nov. 29, 1948 to Delvin L. Ergott and Ruth (Toal) Ergott Smith in Albion. Diana had fond memories of growing up on Sawyer Road in Kent, where the family lived until she was 13, afterwards moving to Carlton Station. She graduated from Albion High School in 1966 and attended school in Buffalo. She also lived in Rochester and worked for Rochester Telephone. She married her loving husband, Jason E. Jeffords Jr., on Sept. 30, 1972, and the couple settled in the Albion area, building their home and raising their family in Carlton for the next 40+ years. Diana retired from the United States Postal Service after 25 years, having reached the position of Postmaster. After retiring, Diana and her husband spent winters in Florida for several years, moving there permanently in 2018.

Diana is survived by her husband of 47 years; and by two children, Danielle L. (Brian) Counihan of Buffalo and Jason E. Jeffords III of New York City. She was the loving grandmother of four grandsons, Theodore, John, Lincoln and Desmond Counihan. She is also survived by her sister, Deloris (Leon) Standish; sisters-in-law, Wendy Ainsworth, Carol Ergott and Jacqueline Romanowski; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Delvin and Ruth; as well as her brother, Delvin L. Ergott Jr.

Services will be held graveside for family in June 2020, and burial will be in Mount Albion Cemetery.
