Dennis J. O’Grady, 67, of Albion, entered into rest on Mon., Oct. 7, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 12, 1952, he was a son of James M. and Opal (Haugh) O’Grady. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973 during the Vietnam era, and also in the Army Reserve for many years after. He was the owner/operator of Zeke’s Bottle & Can Redemption Center in Brockport. Dennis was a member of Sheret Post #35 American Legion and Strickland Post #4635 VFW in Albion. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C. O’Grady of Albion, whom he married on May 16, 2004; his daughter, Erica O’Grady of Boulder, Colo.; his mother, Opal O’Grady of Middleport; four siblings, Karen (Edward) Beach of Sodus Point, Susan (Angel) Castillo of Newark, Danny (Mary Jane) O’Grady of Lockport, and Sheila Smith of Middleport; along with several brothers-in-law, sisters in-law, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Wickett in Batavia for his special care, the staff on the 8th floor unit 3600 at Strong Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Dennis’ illness, and all of the family and friends for their kindness and support during this difficult time. It is deeply appreciated by Mary and the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any memorial donations be made in Dennis’ memory to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411.
