Delois Scurry
Delois Scurry, 62, of Albion, passed away June 29, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1956 in Monticello, Fla., a daughter of Sarah (Richardson) Scurry and the late John Scurry Sr. She was a member of Royal Church of God in Christ. Delois enjoyed watching soap operas, mowing the lawn, and flower gardening. She received her greatest joy in spending time with her granddaughter, Chantee Johnson.
She was predeceased by her father, John Scurry Sr.; and her brother, John Scurry Jr.
She is survived by her loving family: son, Cedric Johnson; granddaughter, Chantee Johnson; mother, Sarah Scurry; siblings, Linda D. Scurry and Milton E. Scurry; cousin/brother, Freddie Gardner; nieces, Tunisia Scurry and Jasmine Scurry; nephew, John Scurry III; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Fri., July 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. Her Homegoing Service will be held at Royal Church of God in Christ, 997 Sawyer Road, Kent, on Sat., July 6 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
