Dale AndrewsDale L. Andrews, of Middleport, entered into rest on June 25, 2020 at his home with his brother, sister and niece by his side. Dale was the son of the late Francis D. Andrews and Candace (Champeney) Andrews.

He was a graduate of Medina High School and proceeded to become a self-taught drummer.

Dale is survived by his brother, Lynn Andrews; his sister, Vicki (Ron) Washak; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Duane; his niece, Wendy Washak Kimber; and his sister-in-law, Peggy Andrews.

He and his brother, Lynn, were members of the Albion Grenadiers Drum and Bugle Corps for seven years. They graduated to the Mighty St. Joe’s Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, for which Dale was a fantastic drummer who not only marched with the St. Joe’s drum line, but was one of an ensemble of drummers who won the distinguished World DCA Championship.

He loved to hunt and fish and loved to share his knowledge of the best fishing waters, especially in the Great Lakes and in the St. Lawrence River.

We are going to miss his beguiling smile, his wittiness, and his terrific gifts as a notable drummer.

He has donated his remains to the University at Buffalo. Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
