Clyde W. Knapp

HOLLEY – Clyde W. Knapp, 89, passed away April 10, 2023 at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home.  He was born November 2, 1933 in Parma, NY, a son of the late Clark Sr., and Evelyn (Warren) Knapp and had lived in this area all of his life.

Clyde served in the US Army during Korea and was the past Commander of the Prattsburg American Legion.  He was a past member of the Albion Rotary Club and past director of Albion Federal Savings and Loans. Clyde loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing in the 1000 Islands.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lenore; brothers Robert and Clark, Jr; sister-in-law Lil Knapp; and great-grandson Declan.

He is survived by his son David (Patty) Knapp; daughters Mary Lou Knapp, Barbara Jo (Bob) VanderVen; grandchildren Alecia (Philip), Michelle (Ron), Anne (Ken); great-grandchildren Alex, Caleb, Evelyn, Nora, Nicholas, Jake and Lea; brothers Donald (June) Knapp, Edwin Knapp; sister-in-law Dorothy Knapp and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours. His Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Monday, May 22, at 11 a.m.

Burial with Military Honors will be at Hillside Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6400 Sheridan Dr. Suite 320, Amherst, NY 14221.
