Claire A. Wachob

Claire A. Wachob, 86, of Lyndonville, NY, went home to be her precious Lord on Mon., Nov. 22, 2021 at the Villages of Orleans with her loving family at her side.

Born on Oct. 21, 1935, in Newark, NY, she was the daughter of the late Orval J. and Marion (Freeman) Ameele.  Claire graduated from Keuka College where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Christian Education.

After college graduation, she married the late David E. Wachob, Sr. on the college campus. Together they raised four children. Claire was a 45-year active leader of the Lyndonville Mongrels 4-H Club.  She attended the Yates Baptist Church where she served on the Mission Board and taught Sunday School.  Claire enjoyed Gaither Homecoming Concerts and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially looking forward to spending time with all her family during the Lyndonville Fourth of July gatherings and celebrations.

She is survived by her four children: Deborah Graning of Middleport, David E.(Mary) Wachob, Jr of Williamsport, Pa., Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Wachob of Farmington, NY and James (Carolee) Wachob of Lyndonville; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie (James) Wilson of Chili, NY; nephews and niece, Jay and Keith Szczepanski and Annie Wilson.

Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by son-in-law, Ronald Graning.

There are no calling hours. A celebration of Claire’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Claire’s name to the Yates Baptist Church, 11365 E. Yates Center Rd., Lyndonville, NY 14098.
