American flagCharles H. Sevor Sr. peacefully passed on Dec. 25, 2020 at age 87. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Florence Sevor, wife Marilyn Sevor, brothers Wayne Sevor, Cecil Sevor, brother-in-law Ron Verstaete. Survived by his son, Charles (Christine Yaskulski) Sevor Jr,; daughter, Mary Shortbull; grandchildren: Kara (Martin) Close, Chandra Gilman, Michael (Aimee) Sevor, Angela Turner Leonard; great-grandchildren: Emily Sevor, Charlize Sevor,;many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren through marriage; brother ,Louie (Gail) Sevor; sisters: Wanda (Chuck) Rice, Bernice Verstaete; many nieces, nephews and many family friends. The family would like to extend our appreciation to and acknowledge long time close friends whom would sit around the table, shoot the “breeze” and always help at a drop of a dime, you know who you are.

Charles served in the Army in Korea 1953-1955 in the 10th Infantry division. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He was a lifetime member of Albion VFW Post 4635. Charlie also served with the Orleans County Civil Defense Auxiliary Police Department. He worked at the Farm & Feed, Holley Cold Storage, Albion Landfill, and he retired from Kodak.

Charlie was one of the founding members of Clarendon Fire Company, not only was he present at the first informal gatherings he was asked to take the minutes at their first meeting and served as the first treasurer in 1956 when they became chartered. More information could be found in “Images of Clarendon Past”. He served many years at the Fire Company.

Following Charles’ wishes he chose to make an anatomical gift to the University of Rochester Medical Center, therefore there will not be a service scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will be planned by the family for a later date.
