Charles Derwick

Charles Derwick, 81, of Venice, Fla. passed away on Aug. 19, 2021, after succumbing to ALS. He was born on Sept. 5, 1939, to Waldo and Edna Derwick in Albion, NY. Charles graduated from Albion High School and SUNY College at Geneseo. He was most proud of being inducted into the sport’s hall of fame at both schools. After two years of teaching, Charles became a State Farm Insurance Agent in Olean, NY. While there he was active in the community, serving as President of the Olean Exchange Club and Bartlett Country Club.

Charles retired in 2000 and enjoyed playing golf at Pelican Pointe in Venice, Fla., where he resided with his surviving wife, Julie. He is also survived by his two sons: Scott of Olean, NY and Sean of Port Orange, Fla.; stepdaughters: Suzanne and Vanessa of PA; brother, Gary of Waterport, NY; sister, Donna Harms of Boca Grande, Fla., and grandchildren: Alex, Hannah, Liyah, Chris, and Henry “Hank.” He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
