Cathy J. Miller

Cathy J. Miller, 65, of Medina, passed away on Sun., May 24, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born on Aug. 14, 1954 in Albion, a daughter of Verona (Reed) Pritchard and the late Donald Pritchard.

Cathy graduated a year early from Medina High School, class of 1971, so she could marry the love of her life, the late Ronald J. Miller. Together, they made their home in Medina and raised three sons. At first, Cathy was a stay-at-home mother. In the 1980s, she went to work as a classroom aide at Towne Elementary School. Lastly, she worked as an accountant for the Public Health Department of Orleans County, from which she retired in November 2016. Even after her retirement, Cathy’s care and commitment continued while she served as a consultant, advocating for disadvantaged children. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and socializing with her group of tightly-knit friends, catering several parties with them. Most of all, Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Verona Pritchard of Medina; three sons, Jeffrey (Marcy Paron) of Atlanta, Ga., Timothy Miller of Richmond, Va., and Kristofer Miller of Albany, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Nate, Carter, Isabel, Zachary and Edith; a brother, Donald (Susan) Pritchard of Mendon, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. Due to precautions associated with the pandemic, a memorial will be planned by family for a future date.
