Carolyn Watts

Carolyn Louise Watts, 61, of Medina, entered peacefully into eternal rest on March 18 at Absolut Care in Gasport following a courageous battle with cancer.

Carolyn was born on Sept. 9, 1958 in Batavia into the loving family of David and Gerda “Sunny” (Martin) Watts Sr., joining her brother, David Watts Jr. Carolyn was raised in Medina, where she graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1976. Soon after, she moved to Washington D.C., where she pursued a career with the United States government. She came to manage travel arrangements for numerous government officials, including President Ronald Reagan. Carolyn left government service, entering the private sector. Family was the most important thing to Carolyn, which prompted her move back to Medina. She continued her new career once returning home as a finance manager in the automobile industry.

Here, she gathered often with her parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephews, niece, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carolyn was the life of every party with her infectious smile and sense of humor. She made certain that members of her family and close friends were happy and healthy, often putting others’ needs before her own.

Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved mother, Gerda “Sunny” (Martin) Watts, in 2010.

Carolyn is survived by her father, David Watts Sr.; brother, David (Joni) Watts Jr.; nephews, Jesse and Travis Watts; and niece, Kaila Watts; Richard Heisler, Christie (Adam) Carter and Cayden and Adyson Carter; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sun., March 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Due to current health regulations, her Mass of Christian Burial will be privately held for immediate family only. For those who cannot attend, the service will be recorded and posted to her obituary page. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
