Beverly Gouger

Beverly J. Gouger, 78, of Murray, died Sept. 23, 2019 at home following a long illness. She was born Jan. 26, 1941 in Dansville to Lorne and Frances (Hinds) Klotzbach and lived in this area most of her life.

Beverly was a member of Light of Victory Church and, in prior years, attended Oak Orchard Assembly of God. She enjoyed tent meetings and watching television evangelist programs on television. She truly was a faith-filled woman. Beverly was also a good cook and baker. She enjoyed canning, needlepoint, crocheting and bingo, and she would talk with and to anyone. Beverly could be brutally honest and had a good sarcastic sense of humor but, above all, she was a strong and supportive advocate for her family.

Mrs. Gouger was predeceased by her brother, Lewis Klotzbach; son-in-law, Johnny Cowan; and her favorite husband, James.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Cowan of Murray, Thomas (Crystal) Moore of Texas, Candice Moore of Rochester, and Nancy Brandon of Rochester; her brother, Michael (Pam) Klotzbach of New Mexico; Rhoda (Ed) Brown of Elba; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 16650 State Rt. 31, Holley, on Thu., Sept. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Fri., Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. at Light of Victory Church, 47 Brown Road, Albion. Interment will follow in Transit Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411; or to Light of Victory Church, 47 Brown Road, Albion NY 14411.
