Bernice L. Embt

Bernice L. Embt, 99, of Albion passed away Jan. 7, 2022 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion. She was born March 26, 1922 in Mendon, NY to the late Henry and Gertrude (Klink) Heineman.

Bernice was a member of the West Barre United Methodist Church, Past President of the Orleans County Cattleman’s Association Auxiliary, and charter member of the Barre Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time fishing and traveling with her late husband Everett.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Everett; brothers: Carl and Henry Heineman; and sister, Marie Cotton.

Bernice is survived by her daughters: Betty (Harold) Hazel of Barre, Ruthe (James) McKoy of Ariz.; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Farley of Geneseo; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours or services. A private graveside service will be held at Attica Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Bernice’s name may be made to Supportive Care of Orleans P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
