Ben Walford Jr.
Ben “Wolf” Walford Jr., 83, of Albion, passed away peacefully Dec. 14, 2019 at The Villages of Orleans. He was born July 28, 1936 in Sumter County, Ga. and lived in this area most of his life. Ben was a former employee of T.J. Lipton and Orleans Community Action.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Doshia (Brown) Walford; sisters, Betty Walford-Moye and Mattie Walford-Samas; brother, Ralph; and daughter, Doris C. Smith.
He is survived by his sister, Irene Walford-Manuel; lifelong companion, Lizzie L. Smith; grandsons, Carl Ben Ross III, Christopher L. Smith and Chaz Dennis Ross; nieces and nephews, Pamela Manuel, Kimberly Manuel, Kenneth Manuel, Linda Burks, Charles Burks, Michael, Mitchell, Derren, Devita and Victor Samas; and several friends.
Ben’s funeral service will be held at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Fri., Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
