Barbara Ann (Gersitz) Lutz

Barbara Ann (Gersitz) Lutz, 87, of Lyndonville, NY, entered into eternal rest on Mon., March 14, 2022. Barb was born in Buffalo, NY, on Feb. 5, 1935, to Joseph A. and Louise C. (Falkner) Gersitz. She grew up in Snyder, NY, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and Sisters of Charity School of Nursing.

Barb is predeceased by her parents; 2nd mother, Eleanor Gersitz; and sisters: Patricia Casey and Margie Babbage.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edmund Joseph Lutz III. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother, Joseph Gersitz (Marion); sisters: Mary Patterson (Richard), Sally Treanor; daughters: Mary Edwards (Timothy), Clare Simon, Paula Simon (James); and son, Edmund (Kim). Barb loved and prayed for her 25 grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer, Rachel, Richard, Jon, George, Andy, Leiana, Salem, Louis, James, Raphael, Genevieve, Mark, Lily, Christopher, Patrick, Gabriel, Veronica, Elijah, Regina, Sharbel, John Paul, Emily, Joshua and Matthew, and 25 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Barb’s many accomplishments include being a loving and devoted wife and mother, working as a registered nurse over 40 years, singing in her church choir over 20 years, ushering at Shea’s Theater, being a fabulous seamstress, participating in the Christian Family Movement, being a league bowler, a Camp Fire Girl leader, and a volunteer for pro-life organizations. Barb was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Buffalo, for over 40 years and of St. Joseph Church, Lyndonville, for the past 15 years. She enjoyed family time, singing, gardening and praying her daily Rosary.

Barb’s Funeral Mass will be on Tue., March 22, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, St. Joseph Church, 38 Lake Ave., Lyndonville, NY 14098, with the prayer of the Holy Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Memorials may be made in Barb’s name to the St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center, 76 Church St, Buffalo, NY 14202.
