Ardith Jett
Ardith Jett passed away peacefully at her home on February 28, 2021. Ardith was the oldest girl of 13 children born to Marie Fitzwater. She was born in West Virginia, moved to New York at age 12 and remained there for her entire life.
She was fiercely proud of her West Virginia heritage. She spent her early life lovingly caring for her younger siblings until age 17 when she married and left home. Ardith was a hard-working and dedicated mother working full time outside of the home and as a full-time homemaker. Her children were her greatest accomplishment and she loved to dote on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grand-cats.
For most of her life she was an avid Bingo player and later on she enjoyed playing slot machines at the Casino. She looked forward to her yearly trip to the Seneca Niagara Casino with her sisters. She always enjoyed a good chicken wing or a well done steak. She took pleasure in simple things like watching children play and laugh, watching the birds float in the water at the park and fireworks. The last few years of her life she spent much of her time caring for a feral colony and rescuing cats with her daughter.
She is predeceased by her parents, Earl & Birdie Marie Fitzwater, and siblings, Delana Summers, Linda Fletcher, Phyllis Albertson and Cynthia Sue Fitzwater.
Ardith is survived by her husband of 54 years, James; children, James (Imee) Jett, Timothy (Kelly) Jett, Wendy (David) Haralambou and Kristy (her 7 cats) Jett; grandchildren, Anthony (Jessica) Jett, Melissa (Mike) Kenny, Jonathon Jett, Brandon Jett, Maria Brooks, Samuel Jett & Anna Jett; great-grandchildren, Isabella Jett, Riley Jett, Georgia Brooks, Violet Brooks, Addison Nolan & Ian Jett; sisters, Judy Mann, Clara Moyer, Virginia Alice Jett and Patricia Jett; brothers, James Summers, David Fitzwater & Randy Fitzwater; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her beloved grandcats, Veruca, Phantom, Sammy, Gizmo, Moe, Lucky & Little.
