ALBION – Anthony Sabo Jr., 99, died February 25, 2022 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Batavia.

As a true Patriot, Anthony served as an Army Machine Gunner during WWII having achieved the rank of Sergeant and ultimately received the Purple Heart. He was very proud of his time serving his Country. An honest man, full of integrity, he was a wonderful provider for his family and had a gift for working on projects with his hands. He was a Gunsmith and a huge NRA advocate. Anthony also loved motorcycles as well as snowmobiles and was a lover of music.

Mr. Sabo was predeceased by his wife Margaret, a son Charles and brothers: Ed, Julius and Albert; sisters: Betty, Frances and Irene.

He is survived by his children: Linda Petta of Albion, Cathy (Robert) Boon-Sabo of Brockport, Shirley Aina of Waterport, Keith (Peggy Race) Sabo of Kent, Janet (David) Leight of LeRoy, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A private service and interment at the convenience of the family will be held in Mt. Albion Cemetery with Military Honors.
