Anthony R. Kane Jr.

Anthony R. Kane Jr., 79, of Lockport, died Aug. 5, 2019 at Beechwood Homes, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1940 in Lackawanna, N.Y. to Anthony and Mary (McMahon) Kane Sr., and he lived in the Western New York area his entire life.

Tony was a member of All Saints R.C. Church in Lockport and a member of the Grand Island Rod and Gun Club. He loved puttering in his workshop, skeet shooting, reading and camping, as well as watching old John Wayne westerns and listening to Johnny Cash. In addition, Tony enjoyed spending time on the computer playing “Farmville” and poker. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family.

Mr. Kane was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis.

He is survived by his daughters, Jill Durbin of Lockport and Melinda (Robert) Fogg of Alabama; his brother, Dennis Kane of Lackawanna; his sister, Margaret (Jack) Smart of California; grandchildren, Jeffery Durbin of Lockport and Marissa Fogg of Alabama; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Frick and Frack.

The family will receive friends at Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport, on Thu., Aug. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Tony’s Mass of Christian Burial on Fri., Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. in All Saints R.C. Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will follow in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
