Anthony J. “Antek” O’Kussick, Sr.

MEDINA – Anthony J. “Antek” O’Kussick, Sr., of Medina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 30, 2022 peacefully at his home at the age of 92.

Born October 7, 1929 in Medina, he was a son of the late Peter and Sophia (Shubuck) O’Kussick. Mr. O’Kussick was a lifelong and proud resident of Medina. He graduated from Sacred Heart School and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church. He married the former Felicita M. Rivera on April 18, 1964 and together raised a family of three children. He first worked on the muck farms in Elba and then was employed at H.J. Heinz Co. in Medina. Mr. O’Kussick went on to work for Harrison Radiator Division of GM in Lockport for 35 years, retiring in 1985. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. O’Kussick enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved to garden, especially organic gardening. He also loved woodworking and appreciated fine craftsmanship. Mr. aAbove all he will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three siblings, Joseph (Agnes) O’Kussick, Leon (Rose) O’Kussick and Marion (John) Dubay.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Felicita O’Kussick; three children, Deborah (Kevin) Doherty, Tony (Ronell) O’Kussick and Michael (Gina) O’Kussick; grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew Doherty, Hunter O’Kussick, Ryan Onart, Charlie and Danielle Ricci and Amber O’Kussick; great-grandchildren, Colt, Carter and Charlee; and several nieces and nephews.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on his birthday, Friday, October 7 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
