Ann C. Nelson, 90, of Albion, died May 20, 2019 in Unity Hospital following a long illness. She was born Aug. 27, 1928 in Albion to David and Dorothy (Ollswang) Cooper and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Ann worked as a substitute teacher and tutor for several years. She enjoyed swimming, reading, watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” on TV, and being outside, especially sitting on her deck in the sun or on the beach by the ocean. Her greatest joy however, was having her family around and watching them swim and interact with each other.

Mrs. Nelson was predeceased by her husbands, Thomas R. Taylor and Paul Rehn Nelson; her son, David G. Taylor; and her infant brother, Robert G. Cooper.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Joseph) Distefano of Rochester and Jan (Grant) Downey of Albion; her stepson, Rehn (Pat) Nelson; her brother, Richard (Mary Jo) Cooper of Florida; her grandchildren, Tom and David Taylor, Sam, Jack and Joey Distefano, Tom and Anne Downey, Jessica (Rick) Townsend, Christopher Nelson and Kirsten Toben; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Ella, Maddox, Rylan and Lincoln; as well as one niece and one nephew.

The family will receive friends on Wed., May 29 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, where her funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Mount Albion Cemetery.
