Angela (Bookie) McNeil

Angela (Bookie) McNeil, 53 of Albion, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 13, 2022.

Angela was born on April 18, 1969, to Charlie Mae McNeil and the late Henry McNeil while living on Conley’s Camp. By the time Angela was of school age her family moved to Carlton Manor in Waterport, NY where Angela would begin her school journey at Lyndonville Elementary. A few years later Angela’s family would make their final relocation to Albion, NY where she would attend and graduate from Charles D’ Amico high school.

Shortly after graduation from high school, Angela went on to become an Assistant Nurse’s Aide at the Orleans County Nursing Home. Angela would enjoy working with the elderly so much that she would go on to pursue her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from BOCES and would finish her career at the Orleans County Nursing Home after 25-plus years of service. For Angela, being a CNA was more than just a job, she genuinely enjoyed being a care giver and a listening ear for her patients. Angela absolutely loved her family and friends with all of her heart.

Angela had a heart of gold and was known for always surprising her family and friends with unexpected gifts. Along with Angela’s love for people, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, eating, shopping, dancing, and concerts. Angela was truly the life of the party, and her golden heart will be missed by all who know and love her.

In addition to her father, Angela is predeceased by her sister, Marie McNeil; and brother, Kenneth McNeil.

Angela leaves behind to cherish all of her wonderful memories, her loving mother Charlie Mae McNeil (Albion); beautiful children: Latonya Long (Atlanta, GA), Colby Ellis (Albion) and Emmanuel Thompson (Atlanta, GA); grandchild, Jada Long (Atlanta, GA); siblings: Chris McNeil and Penny Blake (both of Albion); uncle, Freddie Gardner (Kent); aunts: Joyce Bedward and Brenda Taylor (both of Albion) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Shiloh Church, 3286 Crandall Rd., Albion, NY 14411 on Mon., June 20 from 10-11:30 am where her funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
