Alberta Neilans

Alberta Neilans, 92, of Albion, passed away following a short illness on March 5, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was a deeply loved wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.

Alberta was a 1945 graduate of Albion High School. She was a member of Albion First Presbyterian Church, and a member and past District Deputy of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a beloved lunch lady at Albion Central School for many years, and she loved animals, flowers and birds.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 2002; and by her siblings, Phyllis Wasmund, Ronald Spinks, Charles Spinks, Kathleen Brinkman and Carol Beach.

Alberta is survived by her children, George (Rebecca) Neilans, Fae (Alan) Woodworth, Roy (Joanne) Neilans, Charles Neilans, Scott (Kerri) Neilans and Bruce (Lisa) Neilans; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special nieces, Brenda West, Kathy Brinkman and Carol Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Sun., March 8 from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by her funeral service at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Albion Cemetery.
