LOCKPORT- Kelley (Smith) Glena, 52 of Lockport, NY, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023 with her husband John by her side after a long courageous fight with cancer.

Born in Camden, Maine, she was the daughter of Hazel and Albert Eaton, Sr. of Hope, ME and Clyde Smith and his late wife Barbara of Owls Head, ME.

Kelley grew up in Camden and graduated from Camden Rockport High School with the Class of 1989. Soon after graduating high school Kelley enlisted in the Army where she served as an Air Defense Artillery Private from 1989 to 1994. After her time in the service, Kelley furthered her education to become a CNA to fulfill a passion of helping people. Most recently, Kelley worked at Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albion, NY.

On February 14, 2004, she married her valentine sweetheart John Glena. Together they joined their families and raised five children at their home in Albion.

During her school years, Kelley played the clarinet, flute, and violin (which her brothers claim the violin was the most painful to hear). Kelley enjoyed camping at Niagara County Camping Resort in New York during the summer months and Okeechobee Campground in Florida in the winter.  Her favorite pastime at the campgrounds was playing Bingo with her camp friends.  Kelley was passionate about helping a cause which was evident in her participation in Polar Plunge fundraisers. She loved hunting, fishing, gardening and going to any concert she could. Kelley was an avid New England Patriots fan so much so that she has a tattoo of their logo. Family and friends were very important to Kelley, as she never missed reaching out to those nearest and dearest to her for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Kelley will be dearly missed by her family and friends near and far.

In addition to her parents, Kelley is survived by her husband John Glena of Lockport, NY; sons Bernard (LJ) Jurs of Albion, NY, Dylan Birch and partner Rosemary Rotoli of Albion, NY, David Glena of Lockport, NY; and stepson John Glena Jr of Albion, NY and stepdaughter Jennifer Glena of NJ; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Glena of Okeechobee, FL; her brothers, David Eaton and his wife Melanie of S. Thomaston, ME, Dan Eaton and his wife Leslie of Rockport, ME, Dale Eaton and his wife Jennifer of Wausau, WI, Jeff Smith and his wife Anne of Lincolnville, ME, AJ Eaton and his wife Allison of Appleton, ME; her brother-in-law Jared Glena and his wife Vickie of Cleveland, OH, brother-in-law Jason Glena and his wife Tina of Akron, NY; her Camp Mom, Althea Heschke of Batavia, NY; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is also predeceased by her father-in-law, Richard Glena of Okeechobee, FL, and her niece Emily Eaton of Wausau, WI.

A Celebration of Kelley’s Life will be held at Niagara County Camping Resort in Lockport, NY on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00pm. A private military burial service will be held for the immediate family.
