Carolyn A. Gibson

Carolyn A. Gibson, 64, of Kent passed away March 2, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a short illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 7, 1957 on the Six Nations Indian Reservation in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, where she stayed until she was 8 years old.  She was a daughter of the late Fred and Bernice Froman and came to New York State at the age of 8 years old with her family, and stayed in this area most of her life.

Carolyn worked at Lake Ontario Fruit in Albion, retiring after 30 years.  She enjoyed baking and camping; especially sitting around the campfire talking, joking, laughing and reminiscing about the “old days.”  Carolyn loved her beloved cat Max and her family.  She was a very devoted grandma attending all of their sporting events and would take many road trips to watch them play.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her nephews: Chadd and Kyle.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Frank “Killer” Gibson; children: Allen “Sunbeam” (Becki) Gibson, Frankie “Bobo” (Julia) Gibson, Alana (Jeff) McDonald; grandchildren: Blake, Karlee, Tyler, Trevor, Lexi, Abby, Ally, Alex, Alison; great-grandson Rowan; siblings: Joanne (Thomas) Bordeau, Bernie (Luanne Moriarty) Froman, Brian (Diane) Froman, Lonnie (Betty Ann) Froman, Wendell “Lut” (Denise) Froman, Corena “Dedo” (Mark) Brannan, Darrin “Jake” (Kelly) Froman, Mirum “Lee” (Nandy Willis) Froman; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, Sun. March 6 from 1-3 p.m. where her funeral service will follow at 3 p.m.  Private burial will be at WNY Cemetery in Corfu, NY.

Memorials may be made to the Woodland Cultural Center, Mush Hole, Attention Save the Evidence.
