Marlene B. “Marlee” Diehl

Marlene B. “Marlee” Diehl, 74, of Albion passed away Nov. 29, 2021 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence. She was born Dec. 14, 1946 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to the late William and Eleanor (Peart) Thompson.

Marlene was a very active member of the Albion Rotary Club, serving as past president and as the District Governor of District 7090 from 2016-2017. She devoted over 15 years of spreading the word of what Rotary is doing for the world and truly lived the Rotary principle of “Service Above Self.”

Marlee and her husband Bill enjoyed spending time together on their sailboat on Lake Ontario. She was a member of the Oak Orchard Yacht Club, and active in the First Presbyterian Church of Albion. More recently, she found a passion for coloring and folk art.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Bill Diehl; sons: Bill (Susan) McIntyre, Robert (Elizabeth) McIntyre; step-daughter, Laura (Doug) (Diehl) Price; brother, Carl (Debbie) Thompson; grandchildren: Andrew McIntyre, Samantha McIntyre, Andrew Rogers, Jenna Rogers, Matthew McIntyre, Lucas McIntyre, Aurora Tatum, Chaconne Tatum; great-grandchildren: Alannah, Chloe, Jaylynn, Grayson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Albion First Presbyterian Church, 29 E. State St., Albion, NY 14411 on Sat., Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Hamilton, Ontario, details to be posted when available.
