Jane M Holliday

As a stay-at-home Mom Jane was an exceptional wife, mother, and friend. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. And she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.
Jane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry A Holliday; son, Bryan “Heather” Holliday, Horseheads, NY; daughters: Suzanne Holliday, Davidson NC, Carrie Holliday, Horseheads, NY, Katy “Evan” Heenan, Clover, SC; and grandchildren: Kristina Eisenhart, Collin Eberlin, Keigan Eberlin, Liam Eberlin, Lucas Heenan, Amelia Holliday and Sadie Heenan. Jane’s love, devotion and kindness will live in the memory of all who knew her.

Wallace Wingrove

Wally is preceded in death by brothers Ronald Hinderliter, William Wingrove and Wayne Wingrove. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Huntington of PA.
Wally is the beloved husband of 41 years to Louise Wingrove, loving father of Mark Wingrove, Brett (Brandie) Wingrove, Todd (Katie) Wingrove and Matt Wingrove; cherished grandfather of Braiden, Brooke, Maddox and Makenna Wingrove, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wally enjoyed family time and going to all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He loved watching the Buffalo Bills and the New York Mets.
A private graveside service will be held at Sandy Creek Cemetery

Norma Jean Wollenberg

Her husband of 49 years, Carl W. Wollenberg, was the Director of the Physical Plant Facilities at Niagara Community College. He passed away in 1998.
She is the loving mother of Bryan K. Wollenberg of Middleport.
Residing in the Gasport area most of her life, she was a graduate of the last class of the Middleport High School in 1944. A cosmetologist and beauty salon owner for 50 plus years, she was a graduate of the Robert’s School of Beauty Culture and the Robert Fiance Hair Design Institute of New York City.
Through the years she and her husband were active in many community events in the Royalton area. Her library and love of history and genealogy brought forth interest and membership in numerous historical societies. Among the highlights in their life of volunteerism was the chairing and co-chairing of the ceremonies held at the Town of Royalton Bicentennial and the Gasport Sesquicentennial celebration in May of 1976 with the dedication of the art sculpture “Flame” in the park by the Erie Canal at Gasport.
The Town of Royalton Historical Society’s interest in procuring recognition for the Royalton native Belva A. Lockwood, who ran for President of the United States, not once but twice 1884, 1888 on a U.S. Postage Stamp resulted in a four-year campaign. It was successfully completed with a First Day of Issue Ceremonies in Middleport, N.Y in June 1986.
She was a past Matron and life member of the Gasport Chapter O.E.S. #153 with 72-plus years of membership. Her membership in the Covenant United Church in Gasport covered many years.
A sister Phyllis A. George of Rice, Texas predeceased her.
She is survived her son Bryan Wollenberg (Cathi McCaa), a niece Vicky Young of Rice, Texas and a nephew James George (Sheri) of Garland, Texas.
There will be no calling hours. Private graveside services will be held at Acacia Park Cemetery in N. Tonawanda. Memorials may be contributed to the charity of one’s choice. Norma’s arrangements have been entrusted to Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport.

Emma M. Walton

Mrs. Emma Mae Walton was born in Arlington, Georgia on April 3, 1937, to Aggie Mae Barnes and Ernest Martin.
She moved to Medina in 1953 where she started her own family. She worked at Fisher Price until retiring in the 1990s. She was a long-time member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, studying her Bible, cooking, loving on babies, drinking Pepsi and being a sharp dresser. Ms. Emma was also known for her stern and sassy personality, as well as sharing her good cooking with anyone.
In addition to her parents, Emma is predeceased by her brother Jimmy, sister Lovely, and her daughter, Maryann.
She’s survived by her 8 children: Willie Taylor (Geraldine) of Lockport, Bobby Taylor of Rochester, Andrew Hammonds of Medina, Mattie Hammonds of Albion, Angela Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, Robin Manley (Kenneth) of Rochester, Carol Hammonds of Rochester and George Hammonds of Medina. Emma is also survived by many grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103 where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Lambert Duncan officiating. Burial will be private for the family.

Rita F. Mondo

Born in Medina on May 15, 1927, Rita was a daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Kaniecki) Fraczak. She married the late Russell J. Mondo and together were lifelong residents of Medina. Rita worked for many years as a bank teller at the Medina Savings & Loan Association. She was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. She and Russell were avid travelers. Rita was a great baker and was well known for her chocolate pies. Social by nature, Rita loved to have company over and enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans. Rita was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, sister, aunt and great-aunt.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Russell Mondo in 2012; siblings: Virginia Fraczak, Joseph (Lois) Franklin, Sr., Stanley “Slats” (Martha) Fraczak, Leonard (Lucretia) Fraczak, Isabelle (Joseph) Mastrimonico, Dorothy (Francis) Garbarino, Marion (Edward) Washak and Irene (Paul) Sterling; brothers-in-law: Caesar Mondo, Warren Scarlett and John Poler.
Survivors include sisters-in-law: Mary Scarlett, Teresa Poler and Harriet Mondo; several nieces and nephews: Cynthia Hewitt, Virginia Klotzbach, Christine Biernacki and Clara Lake; and many great-nieces and nephews.
SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Fri., May 6 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Emory Roger Richard Seefeldt
Emory Roger Richard Seefeldt, 18, passed away tragically due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Gasport on April 27, 2022.
Emory was born on Oct. 26, 2003 at Sister’s Hospital in Buffalo, son of Amy L. (White) Seefeldt and the late John C. “JC” Seefeldt. Emory was a graduate of Medina High School in the class of 2021. A hard worker, he was passionate about working at the Gasport View Dairy Farm in Gasport, proudly alongside his grandfather and uncles. He loved animals and enjoyed showing dairy cattle through 4-H. Emory also enjoyed playing saxophone in the Medina Mustang Marching Band. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and many friends.
Emory was preceded in death by his father, John “JC” Seefeldt on May 28, 2017 and his grandfather, Roger R. White on Feb. 12, 2017.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Amy L. Gauthier and stepfather, Fred Gauthier of Medina; maternal grandmother, Beth White of Gasport; paternal grandparents, Emory and Rebecca Seefeldt of Medina; aunts and uncles: Jeannie (Scott) Marker and Scott (Hannah) White; half-sisters, Sydney and Meghan Seefeldt; step-sisters: Brandie, Rylee and Gracie Gauthier; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sun., May 1 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Mon., May 2 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Tue., May 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest near his father in West Ridgeway Cemetery.

Mary A. DiGuilio

Mary was a graduate of Albion High School, class of 1941 and graduated from Highland School of Nursing. She served in the U.S. Army Nursing Corp. during WWII and was a member of the Albion Sheret Post #35 American Legion. Mary was a former employee of the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Staten Island, Albany and East Orange NJ and was also a member of Holy Family Parish.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Elvia DiGuilio, Helen DiGuilio; brothers: Joseph DiGuilio, Louis DiGuilio, Guido J. DiGuilio; aunt, Enes Nenni. She is survived by a special friend, Marcia Bowles; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no prior calling hours. Her funeral service will be held Mon., May 2 at 1 p.m. at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Ave., Albion. James Caldwell

He attended school in Lyndonville NY. He then joined the National Guard. He worked at Dohler Jarvis in Batavia, NY for several years before moving out of state and eventually making his forever home in Florida. This is where he met his wife, the late Mitzi (Munden) Caldwell. He worked in the home improvement field. A trait he passed on to his grandson, Matt Caldwell.

Michael A. DeFilipps

Michael was a highly skilled carpenter who was passionate about his job. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed kayaking and being around water; whether it be the beach, ocean or a pool. He loved watching baseball, his favorite team was the Oakland A’s and in his younger years played in many softball tournaments. Michael loved all animals, especially his 2 cats.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife and best friend for over 30 years, Marla; sisters: Debra DeFilipps, Janet (Steven) Smith; brother, Patrick (Kris Moore) DeFilipps; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret Fay and Paul Sugar; inlaws: Rene (Kelly), John, Faye (Don), Kara (Greg), Erin (Todd), Matthew (Sharon), Damian (Tracy); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wayne W. Litchfield
Wayne W. Litchfield, 70, of Medina went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Sat., April 16, 2022.
Wayne was born on Sept. 18, 1951. He was the son of the late Ruth A. Sylvester and Walter W. Litchfield. He was a graduate of Holley High School class of 1969. Wayne was employed as a dispatcher for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office for over 28 years.
He is survived by his sister, Diane L. McAvinney and brother in-law, Joseph C. McAvinney; nieces: Erin R. Buchanan, Deborah C. Crosley and nephew, Shaun J. McAvinney and their families; uncle, Charles Kreppeneck; aunts, Nettie Sylvester, Doris Litchfield and Carolyn Novatney; and many cousins.
Wayne was well-known for his numerous volunteer projects, including Hands 4 Hope Street Ministry and Orleans-Recovery Hope Begins Here. He was honored by the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce with a Community Service Award. Wayne was known to don various costumes to lift the spirits of those who had fallen on difficult times.
His memorial service will be held on Sat., April 30 at 11 a.m. at the Albion Free Methodist Church, 25 S. Platt St., Albion, NY 14411. A light lunch for family members will follow the service. Raymond E. Groves

He was born On October 1, 1953 to the late Raymond L. Groves and Janet (Schooley) Groves. Originally from Buffalo, Ray and his family moved to Lyndonville when he was 17 and has called it his home ever since. Ray married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” Groves on August 4, 1973 and they spent almost 49 wonderful years together. Raymond worked extremely hard at FMC in Middleport for 43 years, until he retired in 2016. Ray was a very hardworking and dedicated family man who enjoyed spending all of his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Janet Groves; and his father in-law, Dewey Dill.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Groves; mother in-law, Carolyn Dill; children, Kimberly (Mark) Russo of Lyndonville, Craig (Bethany) Groves of Lyndonville and Christina Groves of Lyndonville. Ray had 12 beautiful grandchildren, as well as two adorable great- grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings, two sisters, Carol Larson of Vancouver, BC and Joyce (Lance) Dudek of Rochester and one brother, James Groves of Castile; as well as a few nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God, 12111 Ridge Rd., Medina, where his funeral will immediately follow at 4 p.m. Future entombment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, and parents Almon & Lillian Smith.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Smith & Carl Smith, Keith (Barbara) Marshall and Gerald Marshall; daughters, Annette Burley & Lisa Collins; brother, Gordon (Sandy) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Nancy (Clair) Purdy, Pat King, Joan (Bob) Lundmark, Sandy (Don) Homer & Cecelia (Paul) Munger; Wayne (Norma) Goetz & Lynn (Lorene) Goetz; and several nieces & nephews.
Don was a United States Gypsum Company retiree who enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family in retirement. He was a life-long Buffalo Bills fan. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Jon enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, riding his Harley Motorcycles, camping and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Jon was predeceased by his dear sister Jeanine, his brother Jay (Nancy), his nephew Reg (Nancy) and grandchildren Rachael and Tyler.

George A. Hayton

He is also predeceased by his brothers, Bob, Herb, Harry and Ed; sisters, Marian and Dorothy; and a son, Jeremy.
George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sally (Arthurton) Hayton; children, Theron (Cheri) Hayton and April Hayton Watt; two sisters, Evelyn Cox of Beattyville KY, and Caroline Washburn of Waterloo, NY. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A few years after graduation, George enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He grew up working on his family farm in Hemlock, NY and also helping neighbor farm families. His dream was to have his own farm one day. This dream came true on their 14th wedding anniversary, when they purchased the family farm in Lyndonville and ran the dairy farm for 14 years. Other interests were carpentry, cutting wood, hunting, fishing and reading. Most of all, George loved spending time with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30th, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 3515 Galloway Rd. Batavia, NY, 14020 with the Rev. Bruce Balduf officiating. Burial will be private for the family.

James E. Logsdon

James was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy, served on the USS Randolph Aircraft Carrier with duties in the Pacific theatre. Before moving to the area, James, his wife and children traveled the US working on the transnational pipeline. During this time, James and Esther’s children were born across six different states. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak and was a multi-skilled craftsman and built his family home. He enjoyed his many hobbies over the years including camping, hiking, fishing, baseball, running, bocce, golf, horse racing, cards, and volunteering at his church. James was blessed to enjoy a very long and healthy life. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
James is predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Esther; and son, David. Cherished by his children: James (Dana), Mary Jo (Dennis) Carpenter, Dr. Gregory (Vicki), Mark (Paul Willink), Kevin (Lisa), Dr. Karen (Mike Capan), Loretta (Bill) Andris, Peter (Roberta); Mary West-Logsdon, his daughter-in-law, 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces and nephews.

Dolores A. Kraatz
Dolores A. Kraatz, of Medina, entered into rest on Mon., April 18, 2022 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion.
Born March 27, 1939 in Medina, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Beatrice (Scharlau) Kraatz. Dolores grew up on her family farm in Ridgeway and attended the one-room schoolhouse across the road from the farm. She enjoyed taking care of family pets and tending to the farm animals. Dolores worked for many years cleaning with the Arc of Genesee Orleans mobile crew. She was a proud member of the Ridgeway Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and also was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport. Dolores loved taking Sunday drives with her father and also enjoyed playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by a niece, Justine Balk.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother, C. Gary (Beth) Kraatz of Middleport; nieces and nephew: Debra (Jeff) Neuman, Randy Fuller and Tammy (Chris) Feenan; and great-nieces and nephews: Mark, Donald, Ely, Jack, Nathan and Mollie.

June K. Truesdell

June and her husband Harold, owned and operated Truesdell Trucking, Inc. in Ransomville for several years. They enjoyed traveling and spending their winters at their home in Florida. June was well known for her love of baking, especially her awesome pies.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 plus years, Harold.
June is survived by her children: Rich (Lynne) Truesdell of Waterport, Melinda (Gerry) Geartz of Honeoye Lake, Daniel (Darlene) Truesdell of Ransomville; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Austin of Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan Brennan

Born April 18, 1925, Joan grew up in Escanaba, MI, Green Bay, WI and Albion, NY. After graduating from Albion High School, she attended Denison University in Ohio then studied at Traphagen School of Fashion in Manhattan, after which she embarked on a career as a fashion illustrator. Her artwork was displayed in metro newspaper ads around the United States.
In 1946, Joan married Charles F. Brennan, Jr. of Medina and Albion, New York. The couple lived in the Midwest and Western New York, establishing their careers and creating a family. After raising their three children in Spencerport, New York, the couple moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1977, living on Siesta Key for many years.
Joan was an active member of The First Congregational Church in Spencerport and the Siesta Key Chapel in Sarasota. She remained an active artist, specializing in portraiture later in life. She was a member of the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota, volunteered with the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance Service, and enjoyed involvement in numerous arts, religious, civic and cultural activities.
Joan is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Charles “Bud” Brennan; her parents, Pearl and Don Stimson; and her beloved sister, Jean Sperry.
Celebrating her life are daughters Barbara (Steve) Johnson of Bellingham, WA; Nancy (K Collins) Brennan of Lafayette, LA; and son Charlie (Neale) Brennan of Hernando, FL; six grandchildren: Lucas, Ayla, Nell, Siena, Tobey, and Samantha, and nine great-grandchildren: Grayson, Casey, Brennan, Hazel, Bradley, Nova, Declan, Biko, and Donna.
Joan received great support and comfort from the staff at The Blake, Acadian Hospice, and especially her daughter/longtime caregiver Nancy.
Cremation and arrangements by Cremation Society of Acadiana with a family memorial service at Mount Albion Cemetery in New York this summer.

Thomas G. Watson

Born April 16, 1946 in Medina, he was a son of the late Harold L. and Arlene (Thaine) Watson. He was a graduate of Medina High School class of 1963. Tom married the former Nancy Suckovitch on November 7, 1970. He served for 7 years in the National Guard. He and his wife made their home in Medina and he worked as a Village of Medina police office for a short period. He then worked for Harrison Radiator Div. of GM in Lockport for over 30 years. He was a long time member of the Millville United Methodist Church. Tom was a firearms and reloading enthusiast and enjoyed working on, restoring and running his International Harvestor 574 tractor. He was also a Buffalo sports fan.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy Watson on November 4, 2021 and his brother, Gary Watson on May 10, 2013.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Timothy (Megan) Watson of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Clara Lynn and Elijah Timothy Watson; sister in-law, Judy Watson and nephew, Christopher Watson both of Ontario, NY.
There will be a private graveside committal service held on Sat. May 21st at 12pm in Millville Cemetery, East Shelby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest, 12373 Maple Ridge Rd., Medina, NY 14103, the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund, PO Box 684, Medina, NY 14103 or to a charity of one’s choice.
