Orella M. LoGalbo

Orella M. LoGalbo, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Orchard Rehab & Nursing Center at the age of 84.

Born in Attica, NY on June 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Gary Gildner and Marie Noble. She married Anthony LoGalbo on June 25, 1954. Orella was a homemaker most of her life and raised two children. She also helped her husband in the orchards picking apples and cherries. Orella was an animal lover and had great affection for dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony LoGalbo in 2000; brother, Chuck Gildner; and sister, Barbara Gildner.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Goff of Newfane; son, Carl (Jeanine) LoGalbo of Medina; grandchildren, Steven (Samantha) Goff, Adam (Brianna) Goff, David (Kayla) Goff; Carl LoGalbo, Jr., Thomas LoGalbo and Jill LoGalbo; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Elsie B. Egling

ROCHESTER/ALBION – Elsie B. Egling, born December 23rd, 1922 and entered into rest on November 13th, 2022 at age 99.  

Elsie Egling is survived by her daughter Sheashaunna (Sheila) Yvonne Egling (Paul), Michael Arthur Egling and Douglas George (Kate) Egling, 6 grandchildren (Allyson Y. Wright, Lisa M. (Corey) Berardicurti, Heidi C. (Ron) Mistretta, lan D. (Allison) Egling, Brennan S. (Margot) Egling, and Ondeya R. (Dan) Campbell and 10 great grandchildren: Marc Johnson, Zachary (Christina) Mistretta, Savannah Wright, Adelaide Egling, Raeiah Egling, Micah Egling, Miles Egling, Jonathan Campbell, Anthony Campbell, Olivia Campbell.  

She is predeceased by her husband Clarence A. Egling Jr., sisters (Lutitia, Catherine, Eleanor), brother, Norman Bell, and her grandson Orin.  

She was a lifelong member of St. Simon’s Episcopal Church in Rochester NY before moving to Albion in 1997 and becoming a member of Christ’s Episcopal Church in Albion. She returned to college at about age 50 and received her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Brockport St. University. She taught in the Rochester City School District and received her tenure by 1992. Of the many great colloquialisms that will live on in her family, one often remembered is “know many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe…” She was fiercely independent and has always been an incredibly strong woman. 

Elsie’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Friday, November 18th from 10:00-11:00am where her funeral service will follow at 11:00. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield, NY.

James W. Chamberlain

SHAMOKIN DAM – James Wesley “Jim” Chamberlain, 76, of Shamokin Dam entered into rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.  James was born on March 31, 1946 in Rochester, New York. He was the son of the late Wesley and Vivian (Matterson) Chamberlain. On September 3, 1978 he married the former Debra Walter of Middleburg, who survives.

Jim graduated from Albion High School and was a US Army veteran with the rank of Private and served during the Vietnam War.

He retired as an x-ray film cutter from Eastman Kodak after 32 years. After moving to Shamokin Dam, he was employed as lawn maintenance at the Susquehanna Country Club retiring after 20 years of service.

He was a people person who liked to talk with anyone on the telephone, watching and waving to people on his front porch with his wife Debbie and keeping contact with friends and family on Facebook.

Jim loved the outdoors, he enjoyed mowing, watching hummingbirds and other wildlife, and caring for his dog “Cuddles”. He also liked putting together puzzles with his best friend Wendell Ottson.

In addition to his wife Debbie of 44 years, Jim is survived by his son Walter Chamberlain at home, a daughter Heidi (Jonathan) Rine of Danville, two grandchildren, Kirsten Shutt and McClain Shutt, a brother-in-law Dennis McIntyre of Georgia, two sisters-in-law Betty Houtz of Milton and Nancy (Earl) Bowersox of Middleburg, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy McIntyre and a brother-in-law Richard Houtz.

A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 6631, Route 522, Selinsgrove. Please contact Debbie at 570-809-2654 for those wishing to attend. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove.

Rose M. Morse

MIDDLEPORT – Rose M. Morse, 85, passed away on Nov. 12, 2022. She was born in the Town of Royalton on May 2, 1937, a daughter of the late Leo and Marie (Peters) Shepard.

Rose was a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church and a former member of Gasport Eastern Star #157. Rose enjoyed bowling, knitting, golf, gardening and cats. Rose’s greatest joy was spending time with family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ralph; sons, Daniel (Jeannie), Steven (Annmarie) and Thomas (Barbara); 8 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo (Patricia) Shepard; sister, Jean (Donald) Sipple; and several nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home 38 State St. Middleport on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. Rose’s funeral service will be held at the Middleport United Methodist Church, 9 Park Ave., on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Royalton Mt. Gary G. Williams

MEDINA – Gary G. Williams, 73, of Medina, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Born January 29, 1949 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late George W. and Dorothy E. (Nudd) Williams.

Gary was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 1968. He married the former Jeanette Thomkins in 1972. Early on Gary worked for White Bros. Nursery in Medina. He went on to work as a custodian at the Lyndonville Central School District for 27 years.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Gary was a lifelong volunteer fireman. He was a proud and devoted member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as President, Vice-President and as Trustee. Gary enjoyed collecting, especially John Deere. Above all, Gary loved his family, whom will miss him dearly.

Gary was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Williams in 1997; and two brothers, Thomas and Leslie Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Chris Sobczak of Lancaster; daughter, Vicki (Marcus) Guy of Syracuse; loving sister, Beverly (Todd) Wilcox of Medina; grandson, Brady Guy; niece, Diane Kephart; nephew, Bill McAdoo; and great-nieces and nephew, Johanna, Alexis and William.

Calling hours will be held on Monday Nov. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at the Shelby Vol. Fire Hall, 4695 S. Gravel Rd., Medina. Interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery. Tammy Jean Culver

BATAVIA – Tammy Jean Culver, 58, of Batavia passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Batavia NY on August 18, 1964 to the late Herbert Scroger and the late Gloria (Kinne) Cardinali.

She graduated Oakfield Alabama Central School in 1983 and graduated from Continental Beauty School as a Cosmetologist. After marrying David Culver on October 10, 1987, she opened up of own shop, Tammy’s Beauty Shop in South Alabama for 29 years and retired in 2016 after moving to Batavia.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband David Culver, 2 daughters Ashley (Josh) Dyrbala of Oakfield and Erica (Jessie Buchanan) Culver of Brockport. She will be deeply missed by her 2 granddaughters who affectionately called her Mimi, Chloe Lynn and Hailey Grace Dyrbala. She is also survived by a sister Tina (Bob) Kehlenbeck of Oakfield and a brother Herbie (Pudgie) Scroger of East Bethany and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be missed by her loving dog Maci Mae.

Besides being predeceased by her parents she has lost her sisters Peggy McBride, Toni Scott, Kim Knauss, a niece Tracy Sumeriski, and nephew Chris Blake, Jr.

Tammy had an amazing sense of humor and made everyone around her feel welcome. She loved the sun and especially enjoyed her year-round tan. She really loved her yearly vacations with her family especially the beaches around the US. She loved her flowers and enjoyed decorating her home for the seasons. She loved being around family and friends and her summer end parties and card games. Her most cherished memories are the time she spent with Chloe and Hailey.

Rhoda Broekhuizen

HOLLEY/BATAVIA – Rhoda Broekhuizen, 91, passed away peacefully November 10, 2022, into the arms of her best friend and loving husband Ted.

Mrs. Broekhuizen was a beloved teacher to many students over the years at Holley Elementary School. She enjoyed going to the casino with her friends, nieces and loved to travel to Maderia Beach FL., with her husband Ted.

Rhoda enjoyed writing children’s books and even had one published. She was an active member of the Holley First Presbyterian Church and also sang in the choir. Mrs. Broekhuizen’s greatest joy were her grandsons who she was extremely proud of.

She was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend of 60 plus years, Theodore in 2016; siblings, John (Mary) Westervelt, William (Erien) Westervelt, Eleanor (George) Sears and Dorothy (Albert) Burd; brother-in-law, Lester (Jane) Broekhuizen.

Rhoda is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Cliff of Batavia and Bruce Broekhuizen of Holley; loving grandsons, Ryen Cliff and Alexandre (Morgan Zakes) Cliff and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes 16650 State Route 31, Holley, on Thursday, November 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. Rhoda’s funeral service will be held at the Holley First Presbyterian Church 34 E. Albion St. Holley, NY 14470 on Friday, November 18, at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Ted at Hillside Cemetery.

Ray B. Kopitzki

LYNDONVILLE/MEDINA – The family of Ray B. Kopitzki is sad to announce his passing on November 10, 2022. Born on July 25, 1941 he was the son of the late Fritz and Norma Kopitzki of Shelby Center, NY.

Ray was a longtime resident of Lyndonville, Medina and most recently of Holden Beach, NC.

Ray served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from GM Harrison Radiator Division in Lockport.

Besides his parents Ray was predeceased by his first wife Edna E. (Brazzell) Kopitzki of Medina in August of 2002, and second wife Gladys M. Britt of Holden Beach, NC in July of 2022; brothers Fritz and Paul (Corky); sisters Norma Chambers, Marie DeWitt and Rita Kopitzki, all of Medina.

He is survived by his three children, Cheryl (Brad) Albone of Medina, Fritz (Dawn) Kopitzki of Conesus and Rhonda (Keith) McKinney of Aberdeen, NC; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters Grace (the late Ray) Guzik of Medina and Barbara (Fred) Eggleston of Durham, NC; sister-in-law Shirley DePalma of Medina and several nieces and nephews.

According to Ray’s wishes there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service at the Bates Road Cemetery on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11 a.m.          .

Mary M. Shuler

ALBION – Mary M. Shuler, 85, died peacefully in her home on November 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born January 9, 1937 in her family’s home on Culver Road in Barre to Leslie and Doris (Ballard) Narburgh and was a life-long resident of this area.

Mary was a member of the Gaines Congregational Church as well as the West Barre United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher in addition to being a faith-filled woman who loved her God.

She was a member of the Grange, where she and her late husband Bill used to square dance. Mary also was very active in the Orleans County Cooperative Extension 4-H program, having been a 4-H leader for many years. She published the Orleans County Cookbook for Cooperative extension, which was a collection of recipes and history from the community. She also decorated wedding cakes, catered weddings, and did Color Concepts to earn money while being a homemaker.

Mary taught women and friends how to decorate cakes. She was a certified Master Gardener, giving garden tours, and teaching herbal classes. Mary published an herbal book. She was a certified Reiki instructor. She was also an active member of the Orleans County Historical Society.  She was a former employee of T.J. Lipton, site manager at Bobak Estates and enjoyed being a realtor for Morrison Realty in Albion. She also worked at Hurd Orchards where she made wreaths and pies. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, card making, baking, painting and gardening. She was always proud that she had won the Orleans County apple pie contest when she was younger.

Mary was a kind and gentle woman who was very generous and very giving. She had a personal desire to always help and care for the elderly. Her life reflected a caring spirit to everyone she met. But, most of all, Mary loved her family and her God.

Mrs. Shuler was predeceased by her husband, William; daughter, Darlene Slocum; and brothers, Gilbert and Jimmy Narburgh.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Dora Leader) Shuler; daughters, Debbie (Bob) Taylor and Deanne Shuler; grandchildren, Sean Robertson, Jenni (Brian) Ingersol, Sonya (Andrew) Martino, Danielle (Jeff) LaMartina, Jill (Aaron) Barnes, Danny (Janelle) Shuler, Joanna Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Daniel Taylor, James Moses III and Kolton Kuek; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Bob Narburgh as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Mary’s Celebration of Life, on Saturday November 19th at 11 a.m. in West Barre United Methodist Church, 5377 Eagle Harbor Rd., Albion, NY, 14411. Interment will be in West Barre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to West Barre United Methodist Church at the address above or the Gaines Congregational Church, 14023 Ridge Road, Albion, NY, 14411.

Bonnie E. Bakeman

MEDINA – Bonnie E. Bakeman, 70, passed away November 8, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness. She was born August 28, 1952 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Julian and Evelyn (Thomas Kolb) Bertrand and had lived in this area most of her life.

Bonnie was a member of the Junior Wilson Sportsmen’s Club where she bartended for many years and as of late, worked as a bar steward. She was also a member of the Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion in Medina, VFW Post #1483 in Medina and VFW Post #4635 in Albion.

Bonnie was predeceased by her companion Cliff Fidanza.

She is survived by her daughter Ellayne Venuto; her sons Steven (Trishia) Medema and Thomas Medema; grandchildren Elizabeth Medema, Emily (Devin) Sevor, Zachary Venuto and Alex Venuto; great-granddaughter Baylee Cox; sister Jessie Crobaugh; brothers Douglas Bertrand and Scott Kolb as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elizabeth Rose Betty Sargent

Elizabeth Rose (Clark) Sargent, 84; August 25, 1938 – September 9, 2022; went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, September 9, 2022, at NHC Healthcare Greenville.

Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert Clark and Ruth Frisch Harold. Elizabeth was a retired Registered Nurse of more than 30 years and attended Choice Hills Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons: Jeff (Pam) Keeler, Richard Sargent, and David (Crystal) Newell; daughters: Lisa Sargent and Lynn Sargent; sister: Karen Matusak (Ron); brother: Kent (Linda) Clark; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest, SC.

Russell E. Elwell

ALBION – Russell E. Elwell passed away following a brief illness on November 8, 2022.  He was born on February 16, 1956 in Brockport, NY to William and Marcia Elwell.

In addition to his father, Russell was predeceased by his brother Mark Elwell and brother-in-law James Rush.

Russell received his high school diploma and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in meteorology, attending schools in both Albany and Oswego.  Russell spent about 40 years of his time down in New Orleans, loving to celebrate Mardi Gras and participate in the Jazz Festivals.  He also liked to eat crawdads and hang out at the slot machines. Russell was known as a numismatist, studying and collecting all different kinds of coins, as well as watching TV programs about such coins.  His biggest joy in life, though, was his family.

Russell is survived by his mother, Marcia Elwell; sisters, Valerie Rush and Bonnie Johnson; nephews, Jason Elwell, Jeremy Elwell, Michael Blake, and Steven Blake; nieces, Cheryl Laine and Samantha Ham; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 on Friday, November 11 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Michael A. Wyant

Brandon, FL- It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael A. Wyant on November 4, 2022, at the age of 37.

Michael will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Danielle Wyant; mother Heidi Wyant (Sherry Palmeri); brothers Robert Wyant Jr, Matthew Wyant (Heather Kelly), niece Brooklynn Wyant and nephew Jayden Wyant; grandparents John and Patricia Pangrazio; aunts Mary (Wayne) Whiting, Eilah (Wyatt) VanBuren, Pebbles Pangrazio, Connie Grose; and numerous other family members and friends.

Michael was predeceased by his father Robert C. Wyant Sr; paternal grandparents Benton and Reba Wyant. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and watching or attending racing events.  His quick wit and sense of humor will be missed.

Services will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, November 10th at Cremations of Greater Tampa Bay. A celebration of life will be held in Albion, NY on Saturday November 19th.

Renee Irene (Luczak) Brown

WATERPORT – Renee Irene (Luczak) Brown, 42, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2022. She was born March 18, 1980 in Medina and had lived in this area most of her life.

Renee enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a loving mother of 5, and a loving grandmother who would do anything for her children and loved ones. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her mom, Terri Irene; and brother, James Martin “Marty”.

Renee is survived by her children Jacob Luczak, Brooke Brown, Ryen Brown, Jeorge Brown and Matthew Keiffer; her significant other and her significant other’s children: Jacob (Skyler) Luczak, Brooke (Isaiah) Brown, Ryen (Faith) Brown; her grandchildren, Colt James Luczak and Isaiah Alexander Casanova, Jr.; her father, James Martin (Barbara Reed) Luczak; brother, Michael (Anastasia) Luczak; niece and nephews, Austin Luczak, Brittany Luczak and Maxon Luczak; half sister, Melissa (Tom) Wickham as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

LYNDONVILLE – Joanne E. Whitney, 88, departed this life on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Born on April 28, 1934, in Medina, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and E. Loraine (Moore) Whitney.

She grew up in Lyndonville and lived there all her life. She graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1951 and worked in the family business, the “Coffee Shop” in Lyndonville for 17 years. She then worked for the New York State Unified Court System in Albion from 1970 to 1993, retiring as Orleans County Court Clerk.

Joanne was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lyndonville, a former member of the Lyndonville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was at one time active in the Yates Historical Society. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting and gardening.

Joanne is survived by four nieces, Stephanie (J.J.) Marotta of Gasport, Maria (Danny) Tyson of Gasport, Donna (Dale) Faulkner of Kendall, and Linda (Daniel) Bernard of Gasport; eight great-nieces and nephews; 14 great-great nieces and nephews and a close friend, Carol Lonnen.

Besides her parents, Joanne is predeceased by a brother, Donald Whitney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, 107 N. Main St. Lyndonville NY 14098 with the Pastor Martha Mitchell officiating.

Jean B. Batt

WATERPORT – Jean B. Batt, 87, of Waterport, joined her husband and her daughter in heaven on November 4, 2022 while in the Martin Linsin Residence following a brief illness.

Jean was born November 27, 1934 to the late Arthur and Mary (Spaulding) Barry.  She married the love of her life, Bob, on September 8, 1956 and as a licensed insurance agent, worked side by side with her husband in their insurance agency for 35 years until their retirement in 2001.

Jean was a past member of the Albion Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Albion Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the WNYVFA Ladies Auxiliary. Prior to getting married, Jean worked as a nurse’s aide at Arnold Gregory Hospital, and had been a long-time member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Medina.

Jean loved the Christmas season and would decorate her house with all the appropriate decorations leaving people in awe of the glistening wonder she created. She also enjoyed going to garage sales year-round. Most of all, Jean was a huge family person and the love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was second to none.

Mrs. Batt was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2001, daughter Carol Jean in 1977, twin sister Jeanette in 2012 and brother Michael in 2022.

She is survived by her son, Walter (Michele) Batt; daughter, Robin (David) Hughson; grandchildren, Robert (Jenifer) Batt, AAron (Lauren Wright) Batt, Matthew (Anna Zastawrny) Hughson and Meghan (Scott ) Hughson-Roberts; great grandchildren, Gracie, Kensley, Aviannah, Heidi, Parker and Ettaleigh; sister, Karen (Stanley) Dudek; brother, John (Marilyn) Barry and many, many nieces and nephews.

At Jean’s request, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Avenue-Albion, on Wednesday at 1:30 pm followed by interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Arthur “Schultzie” Burger

ALBION – Arthur “Schultzie” Burger, 62, passed away suddenly November 1, 2022.  He was born January 16, 1960, in Paterson, NJ., the beloved son of the late Arthur F. & B. Joyce (Orrell) Burger.

Schultzie grew up in Woodcliff Lake NJ.  He moved to Waterport with his parents in 1985.  After his parents passed away, he moved into the Ross Street Residence in Batavia. He attended the Sheltered Workshop in Albion for many years where he helped assemble jewelry boxes.

He belonged to TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and was a featured participant one year for his achievement in this area.  In 2018, he moved into the King Street Residence in Albion when his health required a change.  Schultzie was naturally happy and enjoyed the company of other people.  He loved dogs, especially his German Shepard, Gussie, his boyhood companion. He enjoyed bowling, wrestling magazines and listening to music on his portable player. He enjoyed going to Denny’s with family to celebrate special days. He loved Mountain Dew.

Schultzie spent many happy days at Roth Street in Batavia and King Street in Albion, where he was well cared for.

He is survived by his aunt and uncle, Mary Janet & Kash Sahukar; cousins, Anil (Ellen Blair) Sahukar, Anita (Grant) Platt, Shaun (Maria) Sahukar, Sheila (the late Thomas) Lennox, Patrick Sahukar, Leah Platt, Sophia and Diego Sahukar, Benjamin and Kiran Lennox.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 6-7 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 W. Avenue, Albion. Susan P. Williams

MEDINA – Susan P. Williams, of Medina, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the age of 76, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 21, 1946, to H. Gilman Williams and Lillian Hill Williams, Ms. Williams graduated from Medina High School; Sweet Briar College; and Tulane University, where she earned a master’s degree in art history. She worked at the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

An accomplished painter and sculptor, Ms. Williams enjoyed and was adept at various handicrafts, card games, and gardening. She also served as Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop 35 in Medina.

For over 20 years, Ms. Williams volunteered for Save-A-Pet of Niagara County, and was dedicated to the group’s mission of saving the lives of animals – as well as helping the people who care for them – through a foster home program. She personally fostered over 120 dogs, and with the help of her friends in the organization, found good homes for countless others.

Ms. Williams was an avid reader, and believed in the value of education and the importance of being a well-informed citizen. She will be remembered for her strong principles; artistic talent; selflessness; humor; and love of animals, others, and her family.

Ms. Williams was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Virginia Williams Perez, as well as many beloved pets. She is survived by her son, Morgan Claxton; her sister, Catherine A. Williams; family members John Perez and Jen Schiffer, Susan Perez, Christopher and Amanda Kozody, Alix Gilman and Scott Robinson, Adrienne and Captain Evan Squires, Tori and Sergeant James Moreland, Olivia Carter, Wren Squires, and Roux Gilman; and her dog, Miles.

An hour of calling will be held on Tuesday, November 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m., both at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street in Medina.
