Emma J. Pritt

Born on December 5, 1933 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rillie (Frye) McAdoo.
Emma’s family settled in the Medina area from Pennsylvania and she was employed at the T.J. Lipton Company until its closing and lastly at Ontario Foods. She loved being outdoors, either mowing her lawn or tending to her flower garden. But most of all, Emma enjoyed spending time with her family.
Emma is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Glenn) Giltner of Medina, NY, eight grandchildren,
Kenneth Eastman, Barbara Shah, Dawn Eastman, Miranda Tower, Terra (Bruce Deyarmin) Giltner, Karyn Giltner, Angel Eastman, and Rachel Eastman, a daughter-in-law, Georgiana Tombari and Emma’s companion, Elmer Mills.
Besides her parents, Emma is predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Eastman and a son Dayton Eastman, six siblings, Robert and Donald McAdoo, Leona Lange, Louise Guiste, Joan Brown and Kenneth McAdoo and a granddaughter, Renea Bombard and a grandson, Glenn Giltner III.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel A. Thurber officiating. Burial will be in the West Ridgeway Cemetery.

Evelyn L. Lyman

The last of her family’s generation, she was for over 25 years the director of the Swan Library in Albion, New York, one of her many community contributions throughout a long lifetime.
Born in Bainbridge Center, Ohio on October 24, 1925, Evelyn was a graduate of Hiram College where she met her husband, Curtis L. Lyman. She went on to receive a graduate degree in Library Science from Western Reserve School of Library Science, later working at Cornell University, Fort Devens, the University of Rochester and as a medical librarian at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital.
She was appointed the director of the Swan Library in 1973, working diligently to improve the book selection and building facilities at the corner of Bank Street and Main Street. She was most proud of making the Library accessible to young and old, through the installation of an elevator and addition of summer youth programs, GED classes, literacy volunteers, and promotion of the cultural arts. For many years, the Swan sponsored a poetry competition named after Evelyn, in recognition of her many contributions.
Evelyn was a member of many civic organizations while living in Albion, including scouting, Young Woman’s Service Club, Orleans County Planning Advisory Committee, Bergen Swamp Preservation Society, Albion Board of Education, the Republican Committee, as a deacon, elder and clerk of session in the Presbyterian Church, and as a founding member of the Cobblestone Society, serving for many years as president.
A decades long member of the choir in the Presbyterian Church, she later joined the American Women’s Club in Seville, Spain, where she continued to share her love of literary and cultural arts with fellow ex-pats.
She is survived by her three children, Curtis Jr. (JoAnne), Nathan (Gail) and James; grandchildren Chelsea (Reggie) Robinson, Brittany (Hayden) Dawes, Laura (Anthony) Sidari, Elizabeth (Erik) Peterson, Catherine (Kate) Wright, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Curtis L. Lyman Sr., parents Herbert and Berte Lake, brother Frank Lake and great-grandson, Leon Sidari.
Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s name to the First Presbyterian Church of Albion or the Hoag (formerly Swan) Library in Albion.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.

Donald E. “Butch” Waters

He married the love of his life, the former Dorothy E. McKee in December of 1957. Being one of 13 children, Butch left school early to help on the family farm. He went on to work for US Gypsum Co. in Oakfield and then for FMC in Middleport.
While working, he still managed to work on the family dairy farm and in 1966 he purchased the farm and continued to farm it for many years. Butch also owned the Hilltop Restaurant in Middleport and helped to build Kennedy Brothers in Medina. A motorcycle enthusiast, Butch was a past member of the Crusaders Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, watching old westerns, was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and especially enjoyed buying, selling and bartering with others.
A jack of all trades, Butch was also a skilled carpenter and mechanic. In 1988 he went to work with his son at Waters Auto Body, where he was a tow truck driver and mechanic. Working up until the age of 93, just two days before his passing, Butch was the hardest working man many had ever met. A true testament of the work ethic and true grit of those of his generation.
Butch was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy E. Waters in 2014; son, Kim “Muddy” Waters in 2012; and 11 siblings, Dorothy (Ivan) Strickland, Virginia (Charles) Carpenter, Lois (Richard) Deyarmin, Joyce (Ernest) Oliver, Ione (Fred) DiMarino, Beverly Quackenbush, Norman Waters, Lawrence Waters, Raymond (Audrey) Waters, Valentine “Buddy” Waters and Gary Waters; and brother in-law, Robert Elmer.
Survivors include his children, Sandra (Michael) Diehl, Penny (Steven) Stallcup, Donald (MaryAnn) Waters, Angela (Timothy) Frasier and David (Rhonda) Waters; daughter in-law, Barbara Waters; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Elmer; sister in-law, Nancy Waters; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Private interment will be in Bates Road Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crusaders Motorcycle Club, 3312 Culvert Rd., Medina, NY 14103.

Dianne C. Horn

Dianne loved animals, especially her dog “Dobby” and reading James Patterson novels.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James and sister Jeanne Saporito.
Dianne is survived by her children, Kevin (Amy) Horn, Paula (Matthew) Cody and Raymond (Nicole) Horn; grandchildren, Mackenzie Horn, Christina Gottberg, Christopher Horn, Joshua Horn and James Cody; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Quinten, Orion, Eliza and Cole as well as nieces, nephews and friends.

Kyle A. Barna

He was a graduate of Medina High School class of 2014, where he proudly played football and lacrosse for the Medina Mustangs. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport’s Management from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. With all his heart, he actively led the Storm’s Lacrosse team to several successful seasons.
Kyle’s contagious smile was known to brighten up any room. A kind and caring person, he was known to always stick up for the underdog. Kyle loved to have a good laugh. His often goofy and lovable personality are among many reasons why his family and all his friends loved him so dearly. From coast to coast his tender heart reached out to many, including his fury family, Olive, Stormy, Girlrella, and past pets. A beloved son, brother, and proud uncle, he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Cynthia Petkus-Barna of Medina; father, Karl R. Dianna D. Lopez

Born in Franklin, Tennessee on August 17, 1960, she was a daughter of the late James R. Dorris and Lavada (Smith) Dorris.
Dianna married Antonio Lopez Rodriguez on January 9, 1988. A homemaker most of her life, she raised a family of three children. Dianna enjoyed fishing, watching old western movies and listening to country western music.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Antonio Lopez; three children, Angelina (Anselmo) Martinez, Christy (Jacinto) Gomez and Antonio F. (Amanda) Lopez; eleven grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary (late Johnny) Doss; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dianna was predeceased by her brother, James L. Dorris.

Mary Ann Scarborough

Mary Ann was a creative independent woman who brought joy to the lives of many, especially her husband Gregg Reid Scarborough (deceased), her children Jessica and Mark, her grandchildren Nadja and Eli Scarborough-Weiss, her son-in-law Fred Duong, and her great grandson Ronan Duong.
She served the community in a number of ways, working as a volunteer at WXXI, Saint Luke’s in Brockport and other organizations.
It was through her art though that she had the widest impact. Her paintings and fabric art pieces were shown in galleries from California to New York State. Her work was exhibited in many juried shows, and her booth at the Sonnenberg Gardens annual show always drew many art lovers. Her one-person show at SUNY Brockport showcased the work of her later years.
Mary Ann enjoyed a life well lived and will be missed by family and friends.
No service will be held.

Dolores C. Potrubacz

Born on April 29, 1937, in Medina NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Majewski) Matusak. Dolores graduated from Medina Highschool in 1955 and married Chester Potrubacz in 1961, together they raised two children. She was employed for over 50 years for the Linens & Lingerie by Johnston’s.
Dolores was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Medina, where she was an active member in the choir and Rosary Altar Society.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and knitting and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Dolores is survived by her loving children, Michele (Clifford) Barber of Medina, NY, and Mark J. Potrubacz of Gasport, NY, three grandchildren, Jeremy J. (Melissa) Russo, Benjamin J. Russo and Gary A. (Karen) Barber, seven great-grandchildren Blake, Kennedy, Anna Marie Rose, Brooks, Paxton, Jaxson, and Delaney Grace. Also surviving is a cousin, Gloria Kuhn of Albion, NY and two sister-in-law’s and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Dolores is predeceased by seven siblings, Raymond, Leonard, Francis, twins Joseph and Rose Marie, Bernadine Tabelski and Arlene Stevenson.

Therese M. Cartwright

She was born on September 26, 1929 in Lignieres Sonneville, France a daughter to the late Edmond and Germaine (Demail) Gouguet.
Therese was a homemaker who enjoyed being outside working in her vegetable and flower gardens, birdwatching and was a lover to all animals. She enjoyed fishing with her family.
She is survived by her 2 daughters: Patricia (John) Spring of Hunt and Anne Cartwright of LeRoy, siblings: Simone Gouguet, Madeleie Gouguet, Annie (Daniel) Huguet and Yvette Boussard all of France, 4 grandchildren: Casey Button, Christopher Draper, Kellie Wade and Greg (Lisa) Ostrander Jr. 10 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Truman D. Cartwright, her parents and her siblings, Bernard Gouguet, Christian Gouguet, Jacqueline Dupuy, Micheline Sanchez and Odette Duranceau.

D. John “Jack” King

Born on February 8th, 1934 in Barker, NY, he was the son of the late Dudley and Mildred (Ray) King.
Jack graduated from Medina High School in 1952. On June 12, 1954 he married the former Joan Reed and together they settled in Medina raising four children. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and upon returning home he worked for Michael Ferri at Bells Supermarket in Medina. In 1971, Jack and Joan bought a mom & pop grocery store in Portageville, NY., After a number of years, they purchased a Bells Supermarket in Dansville, NY. They retired in 1993 and moved to Fort Myers, FL and returned to Albion in 2005. Lastly, Jack settled in Glastonbury, CT in 2021. He was a member of the Medina Methodist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially Euchre.
Jack is survived by four children, Bruce (Laurie) King of Clinton, CT; Barbara (Charles) Patnode of Phelps, NY; Lisa King of Manulius, NY; and Krista (Jeffery) Falzarano of Aurora, CO; eight grandchildren, Erica King, Andrea Klips, Andrew King, Michael Niedermaier, Kelly Campbell, Alisha Tierney, Sydney Falzarano and Nicole Falzarano, five great-grandchildren, Alanna, Brianna, Bronson, Alexis, and Emma. Also surviving are two siblings, Sandra Carnes of N. Fort Myers, FL and Robert (Karen) King of Bridgeville, DE; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jack is predeceased by his wife, Joan, a sister, Sally Lindsay and a brother-in-law, James Lindsay.

Thomas M. Tillman

Tom was a Co-Owner of Tillman’s Village Inn, and was also an accomplished golfer having belonged to the Stafford Country Club for over 20 years. He also was an avid billiard enthusiast.
He is survived by his children, Amber Tillman of FL and Derek (Leaha) Tillman of Gates; his brother, Mark (Susyn) Tillman of Waterport; grandchildren, James and Carter Tillman as well as his niece: Samantha Tillman and his companion Cynthia Converse.

Edna Ruggeri

Edna was born July 10, 1925, in Holley, to Michael and Jessie LeStorti.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis, and is survived by son, Bernard (Linda Ferguson) and grandsons, Louis and Cameron (Brittany Francisco).
Also survived by twin sister, Lorraine Pera; son, Don (Liz) Pera and family; brother, Joseph (Ingrid) LeStorti; daughter, Krissy (Vincent) D’Angelo and family; and son, Steve.
Retiring from Kodak in 1983, Edna enjoyed trips to the casino with friends, Sunday dinners with family, her donuts (get the right ones), drinking coffee all day, Sinatra music, Yankees baseball and a good cigarette. She did it “her way”.
She was known as Grandma Coffee to her grandkids and Auntie Non to family.
There will be no calling hours. Catholic Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Holley on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church or a charity of your choice.

Jean E. (Roneker) Wehner
HOLLEY – Jean E. Wehner, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
We celebrate Jean E. Wehner, for the wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that you were.
Jean has left us on November 20, 2022 to be reunited with the love of her life of 50 years, Allan J. Wehner Sr. (2005) and her daughter Mary P. Wehner (1998).
She has left her legacy of love, compassion, strong will, strength, perseverance and work ethic to her children: Donna McLean (David 2005), Allan J. Wehner Jr. (Desiree), Janet Hasenfelt (Timothy), Connie Zelazny-Wehner (Juli), Sandra Coonan (Wayne), John Wehner (Lynn), Philip Wehner (Deborah), Jeanne Delaney (Amiri George), Theresa Ingram (Jonathan), Matthew Wehner (Nashae Mayo) and her chosen daughter Mary Andrecolich-Montesano (Gina). Her pride in her children extended to her 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren as well
Jean was born in Buffalo on October 11, 1936 to Otto and Phyllis Roneker Sr. Predeceased by her parents and brothers Otto Jr., Jerry, and Philip Roneker. Survived by her brother Earl Roneker, and many nieces and nephews.
Jean moved back 4 years ago to the Western NY area after being in Georgia for 33 years. She wanted to come home. She loved seeing her kids and grandkids, checking out Facebook to keep up with the family, playing solitaire and euchre on her tablet, garage sales, reading and watching hallmark movies.
Jean will have a mass at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Brockport, NY., where her ordained son Philip will participate in the mass on Saturday, November 26th at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton, NY., on Monday, November 28th at 11 a.m.

Vivian E. Wheat

Vivian was an avid crafter and belonged to the Dale Association in Lockport where she made baskets, did quilting and ceramics. She retired from Harrison Radiator where she worked for many years. Vivian was an animal lover who loved her pets.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Jean Hill; brother Percy Wheat; and brother-in-law, Lenny Weiss.
She is survived by her sister Ellie Weiss; brother Paul (Barbara) Wheat and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Florence A. Mooney

Florence was an auto racing fan, having supported her daughter, Rhonda, as she raced. She was also a fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and the Syracuse Orange. Florence enjoyed baking apple pies and was a nurse’s aide at the former Genesee Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her children, Robin Mooney, Roxanne Mooney, Rhonda (David) Waters and Ryan (Noreen) Mooney; her sister, Iola Anderson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florence is the wife of the late Frederick Mooney and sister of the late Jeanette Taber, Vivian Brumsted, Florine Taggert and Francis Gray.
There are no prior calling hours and services for Florence will be held privately.

Carl R. “Bud” Costich
Carl R. “Bud” Costich, age 88 passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Orchard Rehab & Nursing Center.
Born January 7, 1934 in Webster, NY, Mr. Costich was a son of the late Herbert R. and Margaret (O’Connell) Costich. On June 15, 1957, he married the former Carol E. Sorg. Mr. Costich was a self-employed fruit farmer most of his life, growing strawberries, apples and cherries. He also was the owner/operator of Costich Nursery where he grew and sold Christmas trees for many years. Mr. Costich was a member of the Orleans County Farm Bureau and council #651, Knights of Columbus. When not farming, he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and travelling.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Costich in May 5, 2002; and brother, Vern Costich.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Carol Costich; four children, Larry (Carol) Costich, Linda Costich, Colleen Stahl and Jeffrey (Tina) Costich; grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel, Richard Costich, Kari Keppler, Jeremy Gonzolez, Rebecca Terzo, Trisha Webber, Kaitlin, Megan and Noah Costich; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Adeline S. Millis

Adeline was a member of the Gaines Carlton Community Church. She worked and retired from General Electric after many years. She enjoyed baking, gardening and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George; her son David; sister Mary Rowan; brothers Frank Mack, Walter Mack, Joe Mack.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Ken) Haley; Paula Brooks; her son Dr. Darryl (Linda) Millis; daughter-in-law Joan Millis; grandchildren Julie (Jay) Mersdorf, Karen (Gary) Barber, Brian (Diane) Millis, Christopher (Chantal) Millis, Nicholas (Caitlin) Millis; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ben was a manager for Tim Hortons in Akron and enjoyed playing hockey for the Buffalo Stampede Junior Hockey Team.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Jeanne Fike of Lockport; his sister, Catherine Fike of Lockport; his paternal grandmother, Gloria Fike of North Tonawanda; aunts and uncles, Tim (Bridget) Fike, Denise Fournier, Renee Fournier, Don (Amy) Fournier and Claire Gargiulo; his great uncle, Dennis (Beckie) Maser, and several cousins.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ben’s life on Saturday, Nov. 26, at noon in the Terrys Corners Fire Hall, 7801 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Gasport, NY, 14067.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the start-up of a not-for profit organization to be called “Love Like Ben”. Ben’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.

Ruth C. Hudson

Ruth was an avid roller-skater and loved square and round dancing with her late husband Robert. She also enjoyed tending to her roses and swimming early in the morning several times each week. Ruth was an active member of the Albion First Methodist Church and a past member of the Rebekah Lodge in Albion.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert of 59 years.
Ruth is survived by her children, Bonnie (Butch) Bowman of Wyoming, NY, Lynn (Darla) Hudson, of Rochester, NY, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ruth’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Friday, November 18th from 2:00-4:00pm where her funeral service will be held at 4:00pm. Interment will take place privately at Mt. Albion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the Activities Fund at The Cloisters 171 N. Maple St. Warsaw, NY 14569.

Rodney J. Herriven

Rodney was a 31-year employee of Harrison Radiator where he worked as a Skin Pack Operator. He enjoyed building things, gardening, working on cars and in years past, hunting as well. Rodney’s greatest love came in the form of spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Herriven was predeceased by his first wife Judith (Hale) Herriven and his second wife Joanne (Derr) Herriven.
He is survived by his children: Bobbi Wenzel of Middleport, Sankey Herriven of Lockport, Lori Strough of TN, his brother: Gary (Bev) Herriven of Barker and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and his service and interment will be held privately in Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
