Eddie Joe Nichols
MEDINA – Eddie Joe Nichols, age 69, of Medina, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 following a long illness.
He was born January 2, 1955 in Albion, a son of Roxie (Stewart) and the late Ronald Eugene Nichols. Eddie worked various jobs, mainly in farming and construction.
He is survived by his sons, Joey and Justin Arndt; special friend, Kandi Arndt; siblings, Jerry Nichols, Ronnie (Jeanine) Nichols, Lorena Cox (Billy Brown), Johnny Nichols, Alice Nichols, Grace (Steven) Jenks and William Nichols (Tiffany Fuller); brother in-law, Richard Earl Brown; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his siblings, Jenivee Brown, Virginia Schoelles, Sandra Bonk, Delmus Nichols and Frank Nichols.

Betsy “Joanie” Palacios
SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
ALBION/WATERPORT – Betsy “Joanie” Palacios age 92, passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care on April 23, 2024 following a long illness. She was born June 7, 1931 in Albion, a daughter of the late Earl and Mattie (Parker) Sullivan.
She was known as Joanie the Lunch Lady at Albion School District where she worked for 45 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, her house on the lake and going to lunch with her friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Jose’ in 2008; sister Ginny Fiorito and her brother Ed Sullivan.
She is survived by her three children, Janet Hausner, Jim (Jen) Palacios, Jill (Ken) Burke; grandchildren Justin (Mary) Hausner, Megan (Paul) Guillod, Kaitlyn (Mike) Picard, Staci (Josh) Desmarais and Timothy Burke; great-grandchildren Sam, Logan, Conner, Luke, Madison, Mila, Oliver, Claire; sister-in-law Connie Archbald, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm at 14411 Oak Orchard on the Lake, Waterport, NY 14571.
Private burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Diane M. Ogden
MEDINA – Diane M. Ogden, of Medina, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Born February 1, 1955 in Medina, she was a daughter of Leonard and Helen (Sechowski) Burke. Diane graduated from Medina High School and was a lifelong resident of the area.
On April 16, 1977 she married the love of her life, Daniel C. Ogden and the couple raised a family of four children. Diane worked for 20 years for the Medina Central School District, mainly in the Towne School cafeteria. Diane had a compassionate heart and was an animal lover. She was also very talented with arts and crafts and cherished her gardening. Diane loved her family passionately and adored her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Helen Burke; her husband, Daniel Ogden; four children, Deana (Kenneth) Tireman, Dorene Smithey, Danielle Ogden and Drew (Danika) Ogden; six grandchildren, Corin, Hailee, Kevin, Kenneth Jr., Bella and AJ; two great-grandchildren, Carmen and Isabelle; her three siblings, Ronald (Laura) Burke, James Burke and Elizabeth Phinney; and nephew, Nick Burke. Predeceased by her father, Leonard Burke and son in-law, Juston Smithey.

Gerald P. “Jerry” Claus
ALBION/BERGEN – Gerald P. “Jerry” Claus, age 61 passed away July 21, 2024 at the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion. He was born May 10, 1963 in Rochester to the late Gerald and Catherine (Messmer) Claus.
Jerry worked for RG&E for over 40 years and in his spare time enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling and anything that had to do with the great outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his son Troy (fiancé Lexie Patterson) Claus, granddaughter Charlotte Claus, former spouse and mother of Troy, Carol Claus, sister, Elizabeth (Jeff) Aradine, nephew Jeffrey (Bethany) Aradine, niece Jenna Aradine, great-nieces Kate and Abby Aradine, his two dogs Shadow and Dyson as well as many friends.
Jerry’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Saturday, July 27th from 1:00-3:00pm.

Stephanie Dragon Kelly
LOUISVILLE – Stephanie Dragon Kelly, of Louisville, KY, died July 18, 2024 at her residence at the Ashton on Dorsey in Louisville, KY. She was born in Albion NY on September 27, 1931, of Katherine and Peter Dragon.
Stephanie majored in journalism and advertising at Keuka College in Penn Yan, NY. She graduated magna cum laude as valedictorian of her class. She then worked for two advertising agencies in Manhattan before marrying and moving to Portland,Oregon.
Shortly after relocating from Portland to Atlanta in 1966 with husband James H. Walsh Jr. and their three children, she became involved in a number of arts-related activities. She served on the board of the Arts Festival of Atlanta and as a docent at the High Museum of Art. For several years, she was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church choir and also sang in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra chorus.
Stephanie was the first Atlantan ever to be selected as National New Neighbor of the Year, in recognition of her volunteer work and her involvement in the New Neighbors League. In 1969, then Mayor Ivan Allen Jr. commemorated that honor by declaring May 7, 1969 as “Stephanie Walsh Day.”
In 1976, she received a Masters in Business Administration from Georgia State University. She served as Executive Director of Leadership Atlanta before entering the printing industry, first with Xerox Corporation and then with the Williams Printing Company sales staff in Atlanta, retiring in 2002 after 16 years with that company. She was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church and the Atlanta Symphony Associates and a volunteer Big Sister for the Big Brother Big Sister organization.
In 2012, Stephanie relocated to Louisville, KY to be near family. She lived near downtown Louisville at Treyton Oak Towers for several years where she developed new friendships and enjoyed activities related to the arts that she loved so much. In 2021, Stephanie moved to Anthology of Louisville (recently renamed Ashton on Dorsey) where she spent her final years.
Stephanie is survived by her two sons, Mark Thomas Walsh of Redondo Beach CA, and Craig Allen Walsh (Lisa) of Louisville KY, her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and her sister Dixie Dragon Klingaman (Dick) and their 3 children and grandchildren.
She will be memorialized in a private family gathering and later interred in a family plot in her hometown of Albion, NY.

Kenneth L. Gibson
ALBION – Kenneth L. “Papa” Gibson, 78, of Albion, NY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Born on September 1, 1945, in Indiana, PA, he was the youngest son of the late Glenn and Ruth (Keith) Gibson.
Ken graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School in 1963, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served two tours on the USS Eldorado during the Vietnam War.
On March 28, 1964, he married the former Sue Pender, and they raised four children together.
Ken worked in aerospace at Moog, then in auto manufacturing at LeRoy Machine, American Axel, and lastly, retired in 2014 as a product manager at Jiffy Tite. After his retirement, Ken and Sue would winter in Lakeland, FL. Ken was a devout Christian and was an active member of the Alabama Full Gospel Fellowship Church, serving as a Trustee and Church Elder. He also served as a member of Harvest Hand Ministries in El Paso, TX. Ken cherished the time he spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren, cheering them on at their sporting events.
Ken is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue; his children, Pamela (Richard) Desjardins of Oakfield, NY, Jodi (Rev. Russell) Peters of Medina, NY, Matthew Gibson of Avon, NY, and Evan (Lindsay) Gibson of Owasso, OK. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brennan Peters, Devon Peters, Baylee Desjardins, Alexandra Dieter, Collin Peters, Olivia Gibson, and Cameron Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Isla and Liam Peters; four siblings, Norman (Evelyn) Gibson of Byron, NY, Marilyn Mason of East Brunswick, NJ, Doris Cole of Las Cruces, NM, Larry (Christine) Gibson of Albion, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ken is predeceased by his siblings, Billy, Ronald Gibson, and Gloria Felker; a brother-in-law, Duane Pender and a sister-in-law, Karen Easton.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Alabama Full Gospel Fellowship, 5329 S. Gravel Rd. Medina, NY 14103, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. with his son-in-law, Pastor Russell Peters, officiating. A private burial will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Pembroke, NY, with full military honors.

Emmitt Ray Weese (“Ray”)
DEPEW – Emmitt Ray Weese (“Ray”) of Depew, NY went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2024. Born on July 26, 1964 to the late Robert and Lucille (McClain) Weese. He is survived by his beloved wife Caitlyn Binkowski, his sisters Doris Ann Allport, Louise (Russell) Robertson, Sherry Marciszewski, Terre Blanc, and Aneta Winters, and brother Robert Wilson Weese, Jr. Also survived by his mother-in-law Noreen Binkowski, father-in-law Paul Binkowski, brother-in-law Christopher Binkowski, and sisters-in-law Jessica Binkowski and Becky Binkowski. Loving Godfather of Dillon (Karlee) Winters, Adrian Winters, Zachary Winters, Maverick Winters, Austin Winters and Dominic (Mila) Winters. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ray was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his loving wife, family, and pet conure, Xander. Ray had an amusing sense of humor and lit up the room anywhere he went. Ray additionally had passions for birds, history, biology, chemistry, airplanes and politics.

Sherie L. Curry
MIDDLEPORT- Sherie L. Curry (nee Newman) of Middleport, NY passed away on July 15, 2024, at the age of 62 after a lengthy battle with illness. Born on June 9, 1962, Sherie is survived by her partner, Jason Thaine; her children, Michael (Abdeel Jaime) Curry and Stacey Curry; and her adored grandchildren, Mackenzie and Taylin. She is also survived by her sisters, Deborah (Neil) Masterman and Cindy Newman, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sherie was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Joyce (Niles) Newman. There will be no prior visitation. Kathleen A. “Kate” Levanduski
MEDINA- Kathleen A. “Kate” Levanduski, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2024. She was born August 14, 1957 in Medina to the late Lawrence Bilicki and Zola (Brege) Potter.
Kate enjoyed keeping active around the house, gardening, cooking and also venturing to any casino. She always was willing to try anything and played softball for many years in local leagues. Kate was a beautiful woman with a very loving soul, always willing to help anyone in need.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Charles Bilicki, and step mother Bonnie Bilicki.
Kate is survived by her loving husband of almost 47 years Joseph, daughter Sarah (Tim) Levanduski-Surdel, grandchildren Nate Surdel, Jason Oliver and Mars Surdel, siblings Dave “Bo” (Suzy) Bilicki, Lynne Stanley, Laurie (Nick Willie) Bilicki, Dan (Cathy) Bilicki, Mark (Tammy) Pawlaczyk, Roxanne (Randy Olson) Bilicki, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Katherine Thomas
WATERPORT- Mary Katherine Thomas, with loving memory the family of Mary Katherine Thomas sadly announce her peaceful passing under the loving care of the staff at Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Medina, NY on July 12, 2024. Mary was born on April 21, 1924 to Robert and Helen Cover in Columbus OH, but resided most of her adult life here in Orleans County.
Mary is survived by her three children, James (Doris) Thomas, David (Cris) Thomas, Bonnie Ruhlen; grandchildren Richard (Sandy) Thomas, Barbara (Sylvester) Bernhardt, Stacy (Charles) Brown, Debbie (Aaron) Lewis, Danielle (Pete) Spaker, Maria (Eric) Heeg; great-grandchildren Nicole, Sam, Joseph, Jacob, Helen, Tommy, Charlie, Kenadi, Max; nephew Ron (BJ) Thomas; niece Georgia Thomas.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband Franklin; brother William Cover; son-in-law Gary Ruhlen; granddaughter Tammy Thomas; nephew Terry Thomas.
Although Mary held many positions with such organizations as the Farm Bureau, Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, president of the Waterport PTA, president of the Rebecca Lodge, and District Clerk for the Orleans County Soil and Water Conservation, she is best known for her devotion to her family, community, and church. Both Mary and her husband Franklin, were very active in the Waterport community and the Carlton United Methodist Church. They were also, through their love and support, excellent role models for not only their family but also anyone who knew them. And if all that didn’t keep her busy enough, she could be found enjoying some of her favorite past times such as, baking, sewing, quilting, square dancing, pottery, golfing and traveling. Mary recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends and received over 100 birthday cards. Mary will be remembered for her beautiful smile.

Dolores M. Thering
MEDINA- Dolores M. Thering, 90, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her home.
She was born on May 26, 1934, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Albert and Jennie (Acquisto) Weber.
Dolores graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1951. On October 19, 1957, she married the late Donald Thering. Together, they raised 12 children in Kuckville, NY. She worked various jobs and, lastly, retired from BernzOmatic as a Torch Tester. She was a member of the Medina Senior Citizens of Western NY, and in her early years, she enjoyed bowling and a good euchre game.
Dolores is survived by her children, Eileen (Lee) Kochendefer, Donna (Steve) Jones, Edward (Lorrie) Thering, William (Elaine) Thering, Gary (Nancy) Thering, Kathleen Luis) Ortiz, Linda (Ernest) Johnson, Diana Thering, Roger (Wendy) Thering, June Avino, Gail Thering, and Donald Thering. Also survived are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores is predeceased by a brother, John Weber, and a son, David, and a son-in-law, Eugene “Buddy” Avino.
As per her wishes, there are no calling hours, and a private service will be held at the family’s convenience.

MEDINA- Kenneth E. Daluisio (“Ken”), 59
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of Kenneth “Ken” E. Daluisio, who passed away on July 11th, 2024, at the age of 59. Ken was a beloved friend and a respected businessman, known for his kind heart, unwavering dedication, and immense knowledge. He was born on May 14, 1965, to the late Tom and Patricia (Dean) Daluisio.
Ken was a proud resident of Medina, NY, where he built a life filled with love and laughter. Ken was the founder and owner of The Print Shop in Medina, where he worked tirelessly to serve his community, and earned the respect and admiration of his clients and colleagues.
Ken’s greatest joy in life was his family and friends. He is survived by his three brothers, John (Barb), Tom (Supanee Kunkong), and Bob (Donna) also many nieces, nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles. His special and loving aunt Sandra from Arizona. As well his special friends Pat and Alex Greene, Nick and Kaitlyn McKnight. All other amazing friends and colleagues who cherished his presence. His business will continue with his employees Micheal, Dameon, Randy, James, Alex and Mel. Ken valued every moment spent with his loved ones, whether it was at holiday gatherings, family vacations, or simple evenings on the Greene’s porch. He cared deeply for all, and always wanted the best in life for the ones he loved.
Ken had a huge love for his cats, who were his constant companions and brought him immense joy and comfort. He leaves behind Lugnut, Roy, Sammy and Layla. His affection for them was evident in the way he cared for them and spoke about them to his friends and family.
In recent years, Ken created Blue Thursdays- a free, blues music event for the community at State Street Park. The event was something he aspired to create, along with his friend and collaborator, Chris Busch. The event was to serve one purpose: to provide a high-quality, festival-like music event with premium talent, simply for the good of the community. The iconic ‘Blue Thursdays’ signs from his shop blanketed WNY roadways every summer. Going into its third year, Ken was immensely proud of what was accomplished there, lately drawing over 1300 people to Medina to enjoy the event. Many who travel here for the event are new to Medina, and that gave Ken great satisfaction. It made his heart sing because the event’s success was Medina’s success. Event organizers vow to continue on, keeping Ken’s community legacy alive with the music event he loved. David John Kast
ALBION – David John Kast, age 78, passed away July 10, 2024, at the Jewish Home in Rochester surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 11, 1946 in Albion, a son of the late John Stanley and Evelyn (DeNagel) Kast and had lived in this area all of his life.
Dave is a member of the Gaines Carlton Community Church where he served on the Board of Trustees, was past treasurer and moderator. He served on numerous local and statewide boards and committees including council member for the Town of Gaines, Town of Gaines Planning Board, Board of Directors for Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension and Orleans County Farm Bureau, Farm Bureau tomato and apple bargaining committees, New York snap bean advisory committee and Cornell University Advisory committee.
Dave was awarded the I Love My NY Farmer Award in 2006, and the Orleans County Conservation Farmer of the Year award in 2009. He was one of the original ten apple growers that partnered to form Lake Ridge Fruit Company in 1982 and served as president of Lake Ontario Fruit Inc. for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy; his children, John (Cheryl) Kast, Laura (Tom) Kaczmarek, and Brett (Amanda) Kast; grandchildren, Kennedy (Kevin) Smelski, Tyler Kast, Sierra Kast, Logan Kast, Lea Kaczmarek, Brantley Kast and Easton Kast; great-grandchildren, Cove and Capri; brother, Paul Kast; uncle, Laverne Kast as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 21 W. Ave. Albion, Friday July 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Gaines Carlton Community Church, Ridge Rd. Albion NY 14411. Burial will be in Mt. Bonnie Lynn Brooks
HOLLEY – Bonnie Lynn Brooks, age 59, passed away peacefully at Hildebrandt Hospice House on July 9, 2024. She was born July 21, 1964 in Rochester to William and Gloria (Hathaway) Brooks, Sr.
Bonnie was very active with her gardens around the house and enjoyed selling various plants and flowers. She had a tremendous love for cats and even more so for her daughter and granddaughter.
Bonnie was predeceased by her father.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter Megan Gentile, granddaughter Madison Furness, her mother Gloria Brooks, siblings William Brooks Jr., Brenda Bialaszewski as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bonnie’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Monday, July 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. Her interment at Hillside Cemetery will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Paul Kenneth Beatenbough
LYNDONVILLE – Paul Kenneth Beatenbough, age 98, passed away July 9, 2024 at his home. He was born March 26, 1926 in Madison County GA, a son of the late Charles Edwin and Mary Allene (Fowler) Beatenbough.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Paul began his career in 1950 General Motors at the GM Assembly Division in Atlanta, GA. He joined Harrison Radiator Division of GM in 1955 and served in various engineering assignments and was named Executive Assistant Chief Engineer in 1973 and a Chief Engineer in 1981. He retired from GM on May 1, 1988. Following his retirement, Paul formed PCC Consulting Company and continued to work in his field for many years.
Paul was a member of the County Line Country Church, American Society of Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers and was a member and former Master of F&AM #336 of Medina.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Mary Rachel Coffee and his brother Charles Michael Beatenbough.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Walton whom he married on September 11, 1949 in Madison County GA; his daughter Deborah Joyce (G. Ronald Payne) Beatenbough and his son David Walton Beatenbough.

Sharon S. Plummer
LYNDONVILLE – Sharon S. Plummer, age 79, died July 9, 2024 in Strong Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 11, 1945 in Brockport to Charles and Jane (Lorback) Hughes and had lived in this area most of her life.
Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Albion Central School and the Strong School of Nursing. She was a member of the Clover ARP Church, and worked for several years at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital as an LPN. Sharon was full of energy and had a great enthusiasm for life. Sharon was hard working and fun-loving. She loved gardening, quilting and discovering adventures with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to bring people together and happily planned parties on “The Lane”, as well as church events and many, many family gatherings. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and will be remembered forever as Mom, Gramma Sharon, Gigi, Sheri and “Annie Oakley”. Mrs. Plummer was predeceased by her husband Gary.
She is survived by her son: Mark (Lisa) Stone, her daughter: Charlene (Scott) Chadwick, her stepchildren: Cindy (Randy) Hurt, Chad (Lisa) Plummer, Carrie (Mark) Standish, her grandchildren: Ryan and Logan Stone, Sydney and Peyton Chadwick, Sarah (Garret) White, Adam (Phoebe) Standish, Christopher Standish, Aaron Hurt, her great grandchildren: Rowan and Briar White, Sophia and Marshall Standish, and Kensley Standish.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY July 12th from 4-6 pm ONLY. Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Bates Road Cemetery. A Memorial Service at Clover ARP Church will be announced at a later date. Connie Brace Ebbs
ALBION- Connie Brace Ebbs, age 65, died July 8, 2024 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence following a 2-year courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 16, 1958 in Albion to J. Donald and Laura (Dix) Brace, Jr. and was a life-long resident of this area.
As a 1976 graduate of Albion Central Schools, Connie was a member of the Albion United Methodist Church, and had worked for over 35 years as an Insurance Agent for Albion Agencies. She was one of the founding members of the Albion Strawberry Festival Committee and worked for a few years at the Southwoods RV Park. She enjoyed camping, cooking, baking and as a Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed tailgating with the camper. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and attending as many of their sporting events as possible. Mrs. Ebbs was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Deborah Brace.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Ronnie, her son: Jason (Inga) Ebbs of Penfield, her daughter: Jennifer Gonzalez of Albion, her brother: Donald (Judy) Brace III of Albion, her sister: Laurie (Andrew) VanHouten of Albion, her beloved grandchildren: Bailey, Hannah, Jordan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Shirley Anne Christopher
HOLLEY/ALBION- Shirley Anne Christopher, age 72, passed away July 7, 2024. She was born January 22, 1952 in Brockport to the late Tilly and Estelle (Passarell) Brunette.
Shirley worked for many years as a Teachers’ Aide for the Holley Central School District – a job that she truly enjoyed doing. Most of her time was spent around her home gardening, cooking, tending to her chickens and cuddling up with her dogs. Shirley was well known for her “Wedding Soup” that she made every year for Christmas dinner. Everything she made was from scratch and made with love.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 44.5 years, Anthony; children Tamera (Erik) Bolthouse, Aaron Christopher, Beth Roselli; grandchildren Mattie (Konner) Narowski, Jehan Bolthouse, Summer, Isabella, and Oakland Roselli; siblings Karen (Robert Christopher) Lingle, Jeanne (Walter) Martillotta, Christine (late David) Karr, Mary Beth Anderson, Daniel (Laurie) Emanuele, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 16650 State Route 31 Holley, NY 14470 on Thursday, July 11th from 4:00-7:00pm where her funeral service will be held at 7:00pm. Interment will be held privately at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Vincent J. Hawkins
MEDINA – Vincent J. Hawkins, age 51, died unexpectedly on July 4, 2024. He was born in Albion on January 23, 1973, to the late Walter and Linda (Buckner) Hawkins and had lived in this area all of his life.
Vincent was a member of the Jr. Wilson Sportsmen’s Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing pinochle, fishing for salmon, origami, shooting his guns and going snake hunting in Pennsylvania. Most importantly, he will be remembered for enjoying time with his family, joking around with his great sense of humor, and having the kindest heart.
In addition to his parents, Vincent was predeceased by his grandparents, Vincent and Helene Buckner and James and Muriel Hawkins; mother-in-law, Georgina “Jean” Frasier; brothers-in-law, Billy Lyn Frasier and Harold Frasier III; sister-in-law, Teresa Huling; uncles, Brian and Brent Buckner; and aunts, Marcia Buckner, Francis Hawkins, and Nancy Hagerman.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 33.5 years, Jeanne Hawkins; son, Mateo Hawkins; sister, Rhonda Hawkins; brother, James (Kelly) Hawkins; aunts, Patti Buckner and Jackie Lyons; father-in-law, Bill Frasier; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Gene (Brenda) Frasier, Charlotte (Art) Kasperek, Alex Frasier, Jeanetta (Bake) Prest, and Carey (Eric) Frasier; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Junior Wilson Sportsmen’s Club, 3875 Bates Rd., Medina, NY 14103 at 4 p.m.

Benjamin Curtis Jones Sr.
ALBION – Benjamin Curtis Jones Sr. was born in Americus, GA on May 14, 1938, to the late Ella Mae and John Jones. Ben was the last surviving, middle child amongst five other siblings. Ben went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2024.
Benjamin “Deacon Jones” moved to NY in 1960, where he married his late wife, Geneva. They had three sons, the late Charles, Joel, and Ben Jr.(Lynn). Ben really found a place to build a family and a respectable name for himself. He worked for 35 years at Kodak where he retired.
He was a Deacon of St. Paul Baptist Church in Albion since 1971. He remained faithfully until he was called home. He became an active role model in his community and had a positive impact on those he encountered. Ben was also an activist in the community visiting and caring for the sick and shut in. He also took pride and joy in his grandchildren, Marcus (Trisha), Donnell, Pamela, Jennifer (Bella), Christopher, Crystal, and Anyas. He felt even more joy in his great-grandchildren, Makayla, Makiya, Emma Rae, Llyanna, Amiya, Lukas, Clarity, Balance, Mae, and Tessa.
Ben leaves his loving wife, Hazel; their joined children, Sylvia, Ricky, Michelle, Patricia, and Octavia; their joined grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 29 E. State St. Albion, NY 14411, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon with the Rev. T.C. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Albion Cemetery.
