Alan F. Schlosser Sr.
Alan F. Schlosser Sr., 79, of Appleton, passed away at his home July 13, 2020. He was born March 10, 1941 in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of the late Arthur F. and Lillian (Wilson) Schlosser. Alan served in the United States Navy on the USS Little Rock and was a member of George F. Lamm Post #622 American Legion. He was a former employee of Quebecor in Depew.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Sara Schlosser.
He is survived by his children, Alan (Annette) Schlosser Jr., Bart Schlosser and Rachel Schlosser; grandchildren, Seth, Samantha, Tori and Taylor; siblings, Lynne Vallone, Janet Lott, Nancy Blanchard and Joan Lutz; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services and interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the USS Little Rock Association.

Carolyn L. Boyle
Carolyn L. Boyle, 89, of Medina, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Sun., March 8, 2020 at The Villages of Orleans, Albion.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., July 25 at Boxwood Cemetery, Rt. 63, Medina. The wearing of masks and social distancing will be in effect.

Elizabeth Rush
Elizabeth “Betty” Rush, 85, of Waterport, passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital on Wed., July 15, 2020. She was born to the late Cornelius and Mary (Stack) Newton in Rochester, N.Y.
Betty enjoyed and participated in many social and community organizations. She played softball as a “Black North Bomber” and enjoyed playing golf in a couples’ league for several years with her husband. She was a Lifetime Member of the Carlton Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the AGMH Honeysuckle Twig, and a devoted member of Holy Family Parish. She loved playing cards, going to the casino, shopping, traveling, collecting recipes, watching the birds enjoy her feeders, growing beautiful flower gardens and sitting in the sun. She was an excellent baker, known for her delicious pies, cookies, frosted brownies and more.
She held a variety of positions and jobs during her lifetime, including office work at DynaColor, 10 years as the ACSD tax collector, and secretary to a former Carlton Town Supervisor, and she retired after 19 years from Orleans County Child & Family Services as a Senior Support Collector.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Neil and John Newton; and survived by her sisters, Rita (Rick) Soule and Janet (Tom) Goulet; her brother, David (Susan) Newton; and her sisters-in-law, Judy Newton and Joan Newton-Newman.
She is also survived by Kenneth Rush, her loving husband of 67 years; children, Robin (Randy) Wright, Susan (Larry) Gaylard, Kelly (James) Peruzzini, Terri (Carl Beecher) Rush and Gregg (Elizabeth) Rush. She was a loving, caring, generous and devoted grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 20. She also held a special place in her heart and on her lap for Marley, her little Dachshund.
Betty’s family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion NY 14411, on Fri., July 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. Please note that all guests upon entering the funeral home are required to wear a mask or facial covering. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Church on Sat., July 18, followed by interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

Robert H. Holtz
Robert H. Holtz, of Medina, passed away on Tue., April 7, 2020 at The Unity Hospital of Rochester. He was born in Medina on July 10, 1941, the son of the late Germain A. and Henrietta (McElwee) Holtz.
Bob graduated from Medina High School and Bryant & Stratton College. He served with the U.S. Air Force in Olathe, Kan., where he was a material control specialist. Bob was a production supervisor with Abex. After the plant closed, he became a sales representative with Cook Wholesale, and later with Jacob Kerns & Sons for several years before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Medina Lions Club, and Holy Trinity RC Church, where he served as an usher and collected for Catholic Charities.
Bob was always active playing tennis, golfing, or playing hockey at Butts Park in the winter, where he held the top scoring title for countless years. He also had two holes-in-one. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid Bills and Sabres fan. Bob never met a stranger – he was kind, caring, and always there to lend a hand.
Bob was the husband of the late Karen E. (Keep) Holtz, who passed away in February 2007.
He is survived by his children, Katherine (Donald) Mills and David R. Holtz; and two grandchildren, Carrie and Henry Mills. He was the brother of Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” (Richard) Barnard, Thomas A. (Colleen) Holtz, and Margaret M. “Peg” (Michael) Cushman; the proud uncle of James (Maria) Barnard, John Barnard, Julie (Nathan) Green, Matthew Holtz, Robert (Marie) and William (Melissa) Cushman; the great-uncle of Megan, Jessica, Benjamin, Abigail and Leah; and a special friend to Evie Callard.
Bob’s family will be present for visitation on Fri., July 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Due to current regulations, social distancing and facial coverings are required. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., July 25 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity RC Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina, followed by military honors.

Robin Leigh Cummons

Robin was a member of Newfane United Methodist Church, and she was an avid journalist who aspired someday to write a book. Robin loved motorcycles, planting flowers, and horseback riding, and she had a great love for all animals, especially her dogs. Her greatest joy was her friends and her family, especially her sons and her grandson.
She is survived by her sons, Colt Ballew of Louisiana and Logan (Rachel) Ballew of Newfane; her mother, Janet Ward of Missouri; brother, John Ward of Louisiana; beloved grandson, Logan “L.J.” Ballew Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Fri., July 17 from 10 to 11 a.m at Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane, where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Robin’s funeral service may be live-streamed by clicking here. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery.
