Denise Elaine (Morse) Best

CLEVELAND – Denise Elaine (Morse) Best passed away on August 14, 2025, in her home in Cleveland, TN.

Survived by her loving husband, David Earl Best; brother, Harvey (Ruth) Morse; children Paul Best (Kendra), Aron Brew, and Eric Brew; four grandchildren; as well as cousin Norma (Shekell). Maslyn and several other cousins on the Morse side. Predeceased by her parents Harold Andrew Morse and Cynthia Olivia (Shekell) Morse; and brothers Harold Morse, Jr and Thomas Morse.

Denise grew up in Bergen, NY. Being the youngest and only girl in her family, she endured numerous pranks from her big brothers but embraced it with a fun-loving attitude. She was a 1970 graduate of Byron-Bergen Central School District, and thereafter worked in the factory, retail
and mortgage industries. David and Denise married in 1977, building a beautiful life together as they raised their family. In 2008, they moved to TN and quickly settled into southern living.

Denise loved people and saw the best in everyone. Her servant-heart touched countless lives. She poured her love into her family and was generously involved in her church. Denise’s good-natured and easygoing personality made her a joy to be around, brightening every room she entered.

In her spare time, Denise loved to serve others, read her Bible, listen to music, sing in the choir, bake (her Christmas cookies were delicious!), play golf with her husband, bowl, shop (for bargains and new gadgets!), and was fond of gems and jewelry.

Above all, Denise loved the Lord with great passion. She faithfully trusted in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She could often be found with a cup of coffee in her home or on her porch, joyfully reading the Bible. Denise will be surely missed, but her loving, faithful, and servant-heart will forever be cherished as we hold the memory of this beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

As Denise once wrote: “Death takes the body. God takes the soul. Our minds hold the memories. Our heart keeps the love. Our faith lets us know we will meet again.”

Patricia A. Allport

MEDINA – Patricia A. Allport, age 82, passed away after a long illness, on Thursday, July 31, 2025.  Born May 13, 1943 in Batavia, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Szurgot) Voelker.

Pat, or Patty to some, graduated from Medina High School and went on to marry Dean Allport on October 2, 1970.

She worked at many different places around town, including the Country Club Restaurant and Fisher-Price. After much convincing, she finally retired from Clover Hill Adult Home. She loved to socialize and in her younger years you could find her at the bowling alley on one of her league nights, at bingo, or out visiting friends and family for coffee. As she got older, she would often be at the Medina Senior Center playing cards, volunteering with the Medina Hospital TWIGS, or at one of the downtown restaurants chatting up “the girls”. No matter where she went, she always made friends.

Pat is survived by her children, Marc Turrell, and Allison (Isahia) Schoolcraft; grandchildren, Emily and Aubrey Schoolcraft, and Kasey and Steven Turrell; four great-grandsons; her sister, Sandy (Doug) Christofferson; brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Nancy) Allport; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Dean, in April 2015; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior “Kirby” (Betty) Allport and Leila (John) Brazzell.

The family would like to send a special thank you to all her caregivers over the last several years, whose time, patience and love helped keep her in her own home for as long as possible, even when the dementia made her believe it wasn’t her home. Also, to the caregivers at Briarwood and Newfane—hearing you tell us how much you loved her when we came to visit helped ease the difficulty of having her there.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Interment will follow in Bates Road Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Share condolences at www.cooperfuneralhome.com.

Patricia A. Kinne

MEDINA – Patricia A. Kinne, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Born March 21, 1957 in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Bernice (Lyness) Geniton.

If you ever met Patty, you know how generous and kind she was, a true angel. She loved her family, friends, neighbors, and most of all, God. She spent most of her childhood helping her sister Donna raise her four children. Somehow, she got out of that adventure alive and intact, knowing she would want a family of her own someday.

Patty married the love of her life Tom in 1987, and their son Andy was born in 1988. They built a life in Middleport, where Andy was raised. Patty worked at Bernz-O-Matic in Medina for many years before finding her true passion for working at the Arc of Orleans County. It was a perfect fit for her, helping those who needed a hand and a prayer.

Andy and his fiancé Autumn gave Patty the greatest gift of all in 2018, a grandson named Declan. His name means “full of goodness” or “man of prayer.” A very fitting name for Patty’s grandson, but he was much more than that to her. Declan and Patty were inseparable, and, without doubt, he will carry on her joyous, infectious kindness and joy.

Patty suffered much of her life with illnesses and injuries, but she never gave up. She was a fighter and was determined to be here for her family and friends, but God called her home on July 30. She was surrounded by her family when she passed, with Tom holding her hand.

Patty was predeceased by her parents, Andy and Pat Geniton; brother, Dan Geniton; nephews, Zachary Johnson and Steve Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Andy (Autumn) Matusak; grandson, Declan; sister, Donna Brennan; sister-in-law, Claudia Geniton; nieces, Tammy (Junior) Ruiz and Christine Campbell; nephew, Tommy (Dawn) Brennan; several great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and everybody who knew her as “Aunt Patty.”

Patty is at peace and may we all live our lives like she did, with joy, kindness, and an unwavering faith.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m., immediately followed by her memorial service at 4 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Share condolences at www.cooperfuneralhome.com.
