Tommy is honored today and always, his legacy will empower the future of a life well lived through his offspring, family and all the lives he touched.

In 1989 Tommy met and married his wife, Pamela.  He was an impressive husband and supportive Father of Five (5) children and four (4) grandchildren who meant the world to him.
Tommy was a humanitarian who took the path of a philanthropist and spread love and joy throughout the length and breadth of the United States of America and the archipelago of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
After his retirement from the Military, Thomas was free to take that deep dive into what he truly loved which was helping the less fortunate and homeless population.  His work with the homeless population and has left a lasting impression that will commit to memory long after his passing.  He was especially a champion and a great mentor to the homeless veteran population and ALL that was placed in his pathway. It was clear that he had a passion to serve mankind.

Thomas deeply showed love and affection for family.  He always had stories about his childhood, his marriage, his children and his beloved siblings, especially Sharon, his only sister. The love for his parents, particularly his father, was matchless. He was always willing to provide assistance to any family members and friends when necessary; but not before consulting them and offering words of advice.  He was a born leader and an excellent example for all to follow.
He especially enjoyed taking trips to The Bahamas to spent time with his family. His trips were not only to Nassau (the capital) but to Abaco, Bimini, Grand Bahama (Freeport) and Cat Island. On the islands he enjoys boating, fishing, grilling, cook-outs and family gatherings while learning about his Bahamian culture through the eyes of his cousins and older Uncles and Aunts.

He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents:  Thaddeus Thompson Sr. and Rosaline Adderley-Thompson.  Maternal Grandparents:  Calvin Long and Sarah Long.  Mother, Victoria Thompson and Brother John D. Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Pamela, children: Maverick McMurray (Batavia, NY), Shali Thompson (San Antonio, TX), Lakeisha Thompson (Washington), Thaddeous Thompson (San Antonio, TX) and Tisharra Thompson (Houston, TX) four grandchildren, two honorary grandchildren, Father: Thomas A. Arlene F. Boice Sanger

PLATTSBURGH – Arlene F. Boice Sanger’s long and full life came to a peaceful end on February 10, 2025. Arlene packed a lot of living into her 99 years. She was a dedicated instructor of Home Economics, teaching for 32 years in western NY.  She was an enthusiastic traveler, studying in Switzerland and teaching in England, as a Fulbright Scholar as well as traveling the globe. She loved having new experiences and meeting new people.

She was, perhaps most of all, a devoted daughter and mother. She cared for her parents as they aged and made sure her two daughters grew up strong and independent, as she was. She passed her indomitable spirit along to them.

Arlene was born November 26, 1925, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of George and Suessa Boice. She married Roswell J. Sanger in 1956 and, with him, raised their daughters. She split her time, when not traveling, between her home in Albion, NY, the Sanger farm on Rand Hill, and her parents’ home on the St. Lawrence River.

Arlene was predeceased by her husband, Roswell Sanger, and her brother and sister in law, Wendall and Mildred Boice.  Arlene is survived by her daughters, Paula Violo and Jillian Kallish, as well as Paula’s husband, Maurice Violo, and their son, Alex Violo. She is also survived by Frank Kallish and by nieces, a nephew, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

When they were small, Arlene took her daughters and their cousins on a daily walk, to a special “resting spot.” After her full life, we know she has earned her resting spot.

The family wishes to acknowledge the care Arlene received at Pine Harbour, as well as the support from her many kind neighbors and friends.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
