Notre Dame tips Kendall in G-R volleyball

Notre Dame outlasted Kendall in five sets 25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-16 in a Genesee Region League volleyball match Friday evening.

For Kendall, which is now 4-5,  Lauren Pilon had 20 digs, and 9 kills. Karlee Robb 10 kills and 4 blocks  and Madison Shonitsky had 20 assists, 6 kills, and 7 digs.

In another G-R match, Alexander rallied to edge Byron-Bergen 25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19.

Now at 9-2, Byron-Bergen had Kelly Ireland with 25 service points including 8 aces and also had 7 digs and 5 kills.  Lexi Vurraro handed out 29 assists,and had 7 digs, Jorie Strzelecki 13 kills and 17 digs and Julia Pangrazio 9 kills and 12 digs.

Medina match postponed

Today’s Albion at Medina Niagara-Orleans League match has been postponed as Medina is in a Covid-19 related pause. The pause will also postpone the Mustangs two scheduled matches next week, at Albion on Tuesday and at home against Wilson on Thursday.

Medina becomes the third local volleyball team to go on pause this week joining Roy-Hart and Lyndonville which have both been off all week.
