Notre Dame cagers down Lyndonville

A big third quarter surge keyed Notre Dame to a 62-44 victory over host Lyndonville this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Trailing 25-21 at the half, Notre Dame used a 23-9 third period scoring burst to rally into a 44-34 lead at the three-quarter mark. Nico Zambito scored all 9 of his points and Ryan Moffat tallied 6 to lead that Irish surge.  Moffat finished with a game high 20.

Lyndonville rallied from a 12-7 first period deficit into the 25-21 half-time advantage by outscoring Notre Dame 18-9 in the second period. Nathan Poler scored 8 of his 16 points and Kane Flynn 6 of his 11 on two threes to lead that Tigers surge.

Oakfield-Alabama 60, Holley 44
Tayvon Boyd scored 24 and Ryan Douglas 23 to lead Oakfield-Alabama to a 60-44 win over host Holley in another G-R contest.

Patrick Bower had 17 points and 9 rebounds and Andrew Moseman 12 points and 6 assists to lead Holley.

O-A led 31-22 at the half.

Rochester Academy 84, Kendall 54
Leading 40-33 at the half, Rochester Academy Charter put together a big 27-6 third period scoring surge to key an 84-54 victory over visiting Kendall in a non league contest.

Daniel Garcia scored 23, including five threes in the second half, Jevonny Brown 21 and Albert Tomlin 18 to lead the way for Rochester Academy. Tomlin scored 16 in the second quarter to take the 40-33 half-time advantage.

Mickey Gardner scored 17, Nate Warters 11, Hunter Menze 10 and John Rath 9 for Kendall. Menze also grabbed off 12 rebounds and Gardner 7.
