No snow, but maybe some rain to ring in the new year

There won’t be a deep freeze or snow to ring in the new year. The forecast in Orleans County on New Year’s Eve shows a high of 35 and a low around 24 on Thursday night.

On Friday, New Year’s Day, it will be partly sunny with a high near 36 with a chance for rain after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

There is also a chance for rain on Saturday with a high near 40.
