No identification yet for body found week ago at Point Breeze
POINT BREEZE – Law enforcement agencies don’t have a positive identification yet for a body found a week ago on the shore of Point Breeze near the Oak Orchard Harbor.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office has reached out to law enforcement agencies along Lake Ontario, including in Canada, to see if they had any recent missing persons’ reports.
Sheriff Chris Bourke this morning said the Sheriff’s Office is working with Canadian officials to try to identify the body, which is a male who appears to be in the 30s.
The body was likely in the water for about two weeks.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office is doing the autopsy to try to determine the cause of death.
