Snapping a decade long drought, Albion captured the Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer championship this fall with a perfect 10-0 record.

A 3-2 overtime victory over Newfane, along with narrow 2-1 wins over Akron and Wilson, highlighted that run which earned Albion its first league title since 2008.

The Purple Eagles went 15-0-1 during the regular season and improved that record to 17-0-1 with sectional wins over Springville (3-1) and top ended East Aurora (2-0) to advance to the Class B1 finals for the second year in a row.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock,  Albion topped Springville in the quarterfinals on late goals by Claire Squicciarini and Abby Scanlan. Brylie Hapeman then scored both goals, one in each half, in the semifinal win over East Aurora.

However, Olean bested Albion 3-0 in the title contest.
