Nitro surges past Medina Fillies

Unable to build on a first inning lead, the Medina 14U Fillies dropped a 12-2 decision to the Wheatfield Nitro in a Metro Girls Softball League game Saturday evening at Vets Park.
Singles by Emily Murphy and Ryenn Oliver helped Medina scored two quick runs in the first inning but the Fillies could not cross home plate again.
The Nitro broke away from a close 3-2 contest by erupting for six runs in the third inning.
Natalie Bigelow also had a hit for the Fillies which net visits Amherst Monday.
