Niagara Nationals romp to two wins
The Niagara Nationals rolled to a pair of lopsided victories this past week 16-0 over EMW and 11-1 over Upper Deck.
Four home runs powered the Nationals to the 16-0 victory over EMW.
Nate Sherman, Dominic Cassata, Trevor Luthart and Chris Goyette all belted home runs to highlight the Nationals attack. Luthart and Goyette both had a total of 3 hits as Brian Fry, Cassata and Sam Murphy each added 2.
The Nationals also got a big effort on the mound as Luthart hurled a no hitter with 4 strikeouts.
The Nationals took charge at the outset scoring 6 runs in the first inning highlighted by a home run by Goyette and doubles by Luthart and Mitchell Holtz.
Sherman hit a two-run homer in the second while a two-run homer by Luthart highlighted a five-run third.
Three-run scoring bursts in each of the first three innings sparked the Nationals past Upper Deck 11-1.
Sherman had a three-run homer in the third and Cassata 2 doubles among his 3 hits.
On the mound, Goyette hurled the first 4 innings giving up 2 hits and striking to 7.
