Newfane tops Medina in N-O field hockey

Regaining the .500 mark at 2-2, Newfane blanked Medina (0-3) 3-0 this afternoon at Vets Park in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game.

Newfane built up a 2-0 half-time advantage on goals by Abby Stevenson and Morgan Bedford. Brenna Sheehan tacked on an insurance goal for the Lady Panthers in the second half.

In other N-O action, Barker (3-0) shut-out Wilson (1-2) 4-0 and Akron (2-1) blanked Roy-Hart (0-3) 6-0.

Heather Mason netted two goals for Barker as Morgan Brown and Renee Levy each added one. Olivia Denny had two assists and Caitlin Mason earned the shout-out in goal.

Claudia Stone had two goals and three assists to spark the Akron attack as Victoria Triaga earned the shut-out.
