Newfane sweeps Seahorses in N-O opener

Newfane swept to a doubleheader victory over host Medina in a season opening Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this evening.

Newfane won the boys’ meet 93-66 and the girls’ competition 119-42.

The Newfane boys were led by a trio of individual event double winners including Jaxon Dombowski (200 Free, 500 Free), Dylan Lamont (200 Individual Medley, 100 Backstroke) and Noah Kneeland (100 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke).

Bryson Ford was a double winner for Medina in the 50 Free and 100 Free. He also teamed up with Bradley Goyette, Jobi Wheeler and Brandon Brueckner to win the 200 Medley Relay.

The Newfane girls also had three individual event double winners including Avery Stevenson (50 Free, 100 Free), Lauren Enderton (200 Free, 100 Backstroke) and Kimberly Schmitt (200 Individual Medley, 100 Breaststroke).

Madeline Mark took the 500 Freestyle for Medina’s lone win.
