Newfane sweeps Albion in N-O track; Roy-Hart splits, Barker scores sweep
Newfane swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Albion this afternoon in Niagara-Orleans League track competition. The Panthers won the boys’ meet 77-64 and the girls’ competition 101-40.
Reece Cassenelli was a double winner for the Newfane boys in the 200 and 400 while Tre Yaskulski tripled for Albion in the 110 Hurdles, High Jump and Triple Jump.
The Newfane girls were led by double winners Mel Meyers (Triple Jump, High Jump) and Kim Goerss (1500, 3000).
Roy-Hart splits with Akron
The Roy-Hart boys squad defeated Akron 74-59 as Aaron Curry doubled in the High Jump and Long Jump. The Rams also got wins from Jon Huntington (110 Hurdles), Nick Anderson (100), Will Rickard (800), Jamasen Johnson (200), Tyler Choate (Pole Vault) and Ozzy Moore (1600).
Marcus Kenline doubled for Akron in the Shotput and Discus.
Akron won the girls meet 110-31 as Haley Hall tripled in the 100, 200 and 100 Hurdles and Jenna Robnett doubled in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
Barker sweeps Wilson
Barker swept past Wilson winning the boys’ meet 82-59 and the girls’ 75-66.
Ian DiLorenzo doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles) and Dominic Clementi (200, 400) to lead the way for the Barker boys.
Blake Smith doubled for Wilson in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
The Barker girls got a win in the final event from the 1600 Relay quartet of Katrina Clare, Sarah Mason, Lena Fazzolari and Gabby Baker to down Wilson.
Skylar Munnikhuysen tripled for Wilson in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump.
