Newfane sprinter captures state title

Newfane High senior Reese Casinelli captured top honors in the 400 meters at the state Division 2 (small schools) track championships this weekend at Middletown High School.
He posted a winning time of :47.99.
Casinelli, who won the 400 at the Section VI championships, also swept the 100, 200 and 400 at the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet.
The N-O League also had Newfane’s Kim Goerss place 23rd in the Steeplechase and Roy-Hart’s Kali Scharping tie for 27th in the Long Jump.
