Newfane nips Roy-Hart to take N-O lead

Making a lone first half goal stand up, defending champion Newfane edged past Roy-Hart 1-0 this evening at Gasport to take over sole possession of first place atop the Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer standings.
Max Weber netted the game’s lone goal for the Panthers with 8:46 remaining in the first half.
Cam Stanton earned the shutout in goal for the Panthers whose defense had to turn back a late Rams surge to preserve the narrow win.
Newfane is now 6-1 and Roy-Hart 5-2 in N-O competition.
Holley 2, University Prep 1
Early goals by Matt Wilson and John Mounts keyed Holley to a 2-1 non league win over University Prep. Kohl Morgan and Andrew Moseman earned assists on the tallies as the Hawks improve to 5-1-2.
