Newfane girls top Medina; Albion romps

Newfane downed visiting Medina 67-50 and Albion romped past host Barker 51-13 this evening to tighten the battle for second place in the Niagara-Orleans League standings.

Albion and Newfane are now both at 7-4 and Medina 6-4 heading into the final week of the regular season.

Paige Emborsky poured in a game high 28 points while Alexa Littman added 12 and Olivia Littman 10 to led the way for Newfane which was up 32-22 at the half.

Je’ne Brown scored 21 to lead Medina as Maddy Winters and Molley Gross both added 9.

Emily Blanchard scored 14 and Caitlynn Snook 13 to set the pace for Albion which held a commanding 25-4 advantage at the half. Janae Doty added 7, Sierra Chudy 5, Nicole Eldred 4, Natalie DiCureia and Brylie Hapeman 3 and Cassidy Wolcott 2 for the Purple Eagles.

Snook also had 13 rebounds, Blanchard 8 and DiCureia 6 along with 5 steals.

Emily Annable and Kylie Miller both scored 4 for Barker.
