Newfane used an 11-4 scoring edge in overtime to outlast visiting Albion 50-43 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Albion sent the contest into overtime when Emily Blanchard hit a three with just seven seconds remaining to knot the contest at 39-39.

Keeping the momentum, Albion then grabbed a 43-39 lead at the outset of the overtime period on a pair of baskets by Chanyce Powell.

However, Newfane answered back with a victory clinching 11–0 run. Baskets by Olivia Littman, Paige Emborsky and Katie Kneeland rallied the Lady Panthers into the lead for good and three free throws by Emily Foltz then put a lock on the win.

Emborsky finished with a game high 23 points as Littman tallied 12 and Foltz 9.

Powell scored 21 and Blanchard 8 for Albion.

Newfane improves to 9-2 in N-O action and Albion slips to 5-5.
