Newfane girls down Medina

Holley tops W-C

Getting point production from all 11 players, Newfane posted a 66-22 victory over visiting Medina this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Brooke Horning had 9 points Claire Puff and Bailey Koithan 8 and Maggie Kropf 7 to lead the way for Newfane which improves to 8-2.

Molley Gross grabbed off 10 rebounds and Madeline Winters 9 for Medina which slips to 1-9. Gross and Winters also both scored 4 points, De’Andrea Salone 6 and Nicole Blount 5.

Newfane led 20-2 after one quarter and 30-17 at the half.

Wilson 39, Barker 15
Jumping out to a 24-3 half-time advantage, undefeated (9-0) N-O leading Wilson went on to defeat host Barker (4-6) 39-15.

Emily Lasher had 18 points, 12 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 assists to lead the way for Wilson as Allie Bubar added 6 points and Dana Smith 5.

Caitlyn Mason had 6 points and Olivia Denny 4 for Barker.

Holley 40, W-C 32
Sam Barniak had 13 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds; Nicole Blackburn 12 points and 8 rebounds and Jade Underwood 10 points and 4 assists to Holley to a 40-32 victory over Wheatland-Chili in a Genesee Region League game.

Nicki Mauro helped lock up the Lady Hawks win by going 5 of 7 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
