Newfane girls advance to state soccer semis

Niagara-Orleans League champion Newfane defeated Palmyra-Macedon 2-1 in the Class B Far West Regional girls soccer game today at Geneseo.

Erica Flagler scored in the first half off an assist from Kayleigh Daniels and Emily Foltz tallied in the second half for the Lady Panthers.

It marks the second straight year that the N-O League has advanced a team to the state semis. Last fall Wilson reached the state finals.
Section V Volleyball Sectionals
Caledonia-Mumford 25-25-25, Byron-Bergen 18-18-17

Caledonia-Mumford defeated Byron-Bergen in straight sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-17 today in the Section V Class C2 volleyball championship match.

Lauren Burke had 12 spiking kills, 9 assists and 4 dogs; Catherine Brumsted 11 assists and 1 ace; Madison Farnsworth 6 kills, 9 digs and 1 block and Abby Vurraro 13 digs for Byron-Bergen.
