Newfane booters nip Albion in overtime

Front-running Newfane edged past host Albion 2-1 in overtime this evening to stay unbeaten at 8-0 in Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer competition.

Mateo May scored the game winner for Newfane off a corner by Trevor Moreland with 6 minutes to go in the first overtime period.

May also scored with 9 minutes remaining in the second half to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

However, Albion answered right back with the equalizer when Connor McQuillan scored with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time off an assist from Kendyll Hadick.

Albion, which is now 2-5 in N-O action, next hosts Byron-Bergen in a non league game at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Wilson 7, Roy-Hart 0

Cesar Carlin scored 3 goals and Taylor Carmer 2 to lead Wilson (4-2) to a 7-0 win over Roy-Hart (1-5).
