Newfane blanks Albion in N-O softball; Roy-Hart rallies past Wilson
Newfane opened Niagara-Orleans League softball competition with a 7-0 victory at Albion this afternoon.
In the other N-O games, Roy-Hart (2-0) defeated Wilson (0-2) 18-8 and Akron (1-0) blanked Barker (0-1) 11-0. The Medina at CSAT contest was postponed.
Cassidy Geise hurled the shutout for the Lady Panthers registering 3 strikeouts.
Alexa Littman had 2 hits and 3 RBIs, Emily Foltz 2 RBIs and Olivia Littman a double to lead Newfane at the plate.
Ellen Narburgh had a triple and Kelsee Soule a double for Albion which is now 1-1 in N-O action.
Roy-Hart 18, Wilson 8
Trailing 4-1, Roy-Hart erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning to key a 18-8 victory over visiting Wilson.
Brianna Brewer, Kayla Brown and Rachael Rausch all had run producing doubles and Rielly Albee an RBI single to key the decisive rally for the Lady Rams.
Maddy Glena had a total of 5 hits for Roy-Hart including 2 doubles, a triple and 4 RBIs. Maddie Fry and Albee both had 3 hits.
Anna Bryer and Jen Darlak both had 2 hits for Wilson.
